Traditionally, it is customary in society to celebrate on a grand scale, first of all, round dates - 10, 20, 50 years. But who said it was right? Are the other steps less important and worth your attention? Dutch designers Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren do not pay attention to conventions: they have been working together for 17 years - and they have turned the celebration of this date into a real event!
17 years ago, two graduates of the Arnhem Academy of Arts, Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren, decided to work together to create fashion clothes under the Viktor & Rolf brand. Now, having become successful designers, the authors remember all the stages of their creative path, organizing an exhibition of more than thirty dolls, each of which personifies one or another Viktor & Rolf collection.
Each doll is not only dressed in a complete copy of the brightest and most memorable dress from each collection of designers, but it is itself a copy of the model that represented this dress. In one of the red-haired dolls, for example, you can recognize the British actress Tilda Swinton, who took part in the show of the Viktor & Rolf collection in 2003. In addition, even details such as accessories that complement the outfit and makeup of the models were taken into account.
Currently, an exhibition of designer dolls is taking place at the Studio Job Gallery (Antwerp, Belgium): everyone can admire the exhibits from May 18 to July 16, 2010.
