Understand directions and movements of contemporary art they teach first at school, then at lectures at specialized universities, but nevertheless, a person receives the bulk of the relevant knowledge through self-education. Lest these cultural studies lessons be standard and monotonous, graphic designer of Moroccan origin Outmane amahou developed his own guide to the world of contemporary art. The art project is presented as a series minimalistic posters, and has an unpretentious name Major art movements … As you know, visualization is a powerful driving force built on images and associations. And the key detail of minimalist posters is a laconic image that is clearly associated with an idea, be it a film, music, or a trend in contemporary art. Therefore, the success of such a project entirely depends on how well the author has chosen the images, and how vivid associations they evoke in the viewer.
Artist Outmane Amahou followed the standard guidelines for creating minimalist posters. And he really managed to pick up the images corresponding to the directions so cleverly that many of them could not even be signed. The melting clock, denoting surrealism, is invariably associated with Salvador Dali for everyone. It is impossible not to recognize the ghost from the painting "The Scream" by the expressionist Munch. Not to mention the characteristic images exploited by Pop Art, Cubism and Abstractionism. But among all the images and forms, bright and authentic, one still stands out: a poster dedicated to post-impressionism, in which the details of the famous "Starry Night" by Van Gogh are clearly guessed.
This is not a complete selection of posters prepared by the artist for the "lessons of contemporary art". You can view the entire series of works on the Outmane Amahou website.

Contemporary art from Konstantin Zolotarev. Contemporary Christian art or icon painting style
The icon painting style created for the depiction of saints and Christ is aimed at displaying a different reality.
