Erwin Olaf uses his sharp mind and original vision of the world to create a satirical portrait of our modern consumer society. Visually refined and conceptually provocative, his depictions challenge global trends such as hypocrisy, brutality, consumer culture and social control. One of his most famous and original projects is a series of works "The Royal Blood", illustrating the circumstances of the death of famous historical figures.
Probably the most scandalous and controversial image of the project is the photograph of Princess Diana with the Mercedes emblem smashed into her bloody hand. However, images of other famous historical figures, dressed all in white and splattered with scarlet blood stains, deserve no less attention.
Queen Marie Antoinette of France, accused of treason and executed at the age of 38 in 1793.
Guy Julius Caesar, ancient Roman commander. Killed by conspiracy in 44 BC
Empress of Austria Elisabeth of Bavaria, better known as Sissi. She died in 1898 from a stab wound to the heart inflicted on her while walking by the anarchist Luigi Lucceni.
Poppaea Sabina is the second wife of Emperor Nero. In 65, during a drunken family quarrel, the emperor kicked his pregnant wife in the stomach, causing Poppaea to die.
Alexandra Feodorovna, wife of the Russian Emperor Nicholas II. She was shot by the Bolsheviks together with her husband and five children in 1918 in Yekaterinburg.
Erwin Olaf is a Dutch photographer. He has sponsored advertising campaigns for such world famous names as Levi's, Microsoft and Nokia.

Flesh from flesh, blood from blood. "Bloody" sculptures by Mark Quinn
It is becoming more and more obvious that connoisseurs of contemporary art are no longer just to admire the beauty and grace of works of art - they are more and more thirsty for bread and circuses. Shocking, resonance, strong emotions that will take your breath away. Therefore, it is not surprising that contemporary authors are striving with all their might to get into the "stream", creating creative works one stranger than the other. There are a great many such works in the portfolio of the famous English sculptor Marc Quinn. Wednesday
