Lyudmila Zykina was indeed a connoisseur of jewelry, but, according to the recollections of her close friends, she was not at all the money-grubber obsessed with diamonds, as she was presented after her death. They even wrote that Lyudmila Georgievna competed with Galina Brezhneva and Ekaterina Furtseva in terms of jewelry. But Furtseva had only a couple of sets of expensive jewelry, and they were close friends with Zykina. And I didn’t know the daughter of General Secretary Zykin. Lyudmila Georgievna bought her first set of jewelry in 1963 after she was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR. It was a ring, earrings and a brooch with 12 diamonds on the edges and a large emerald in the middle. In photographs of those years, Zykina often wears these decorations. But later, the singer asked her jeweler Mikhail Schneerson to make several rings from the brooch.
The jewelry of Lyudmila Zykina was placed in one black leather cosmetic bag, however, quite voluminous: several sets, watches of a famous brand, studded with diamonds and a heart medallion, inside which there is an icon of Nikolai the Ugodnik.
She never parted with her cosmetic bag - neither at home, nor on tour, nor in the country. Relatives say that the singer herself did not know how much her jewelry was for one reason - Lyudmila Georgievna never tried to evaluate these jewelry, since she did not plan to sell them.
After the death of the singer, her jewelry disappeared. Part of Zykina's collection was found at the dacha of her assistant Tatyana Svinkova.
The jewelry was seized and attached to the criminal case as material evidence, and later handed over to her nephew Sergei, who immediately put them up for auction. True, other relatives were outraged, and the auction was invalidated. But that's a completely different story.
