Margarita dreamed of becoming an actress since childhood. Therefore, when the girl saw how the announcements about recruitment to the Studio School were being posted near the Art Theater, she, without hesitation, submitted her documents to the admissions office. Of the hundreds of applicants for the third round, 18 people remained, including Margarita Anastasyeva, who went down in history as the holder of a diploma from the Moscow Art Theater School under No. 1. This happened due to the fact that the list of students was compiled in alphabetical order, and her last name was the first line.

It was to this theater that the actress devoted her whole life. During her creative career, she was involved in 20 theatrical performances. But her filmography, unfortunately, is only 6 films. In 1954 she made her film debut, playing a role in the film "Trial of Loyalty". Later, Margarita Viktorovna also starred in the films "Kremlin Chimes", "Four", "Three Ivans", "Strong Man". But, despite the successful roles, she did not continue her career as a film actress, focusing on work in the theater.

However, after working for 39 years at the Moscow Art Theater, the actress was forced to quit. This was due to the innovations that Oleg Efremov began to carry out when he came to the leadership of the Moscow Art Theater. Efremov actually sent the actress to retire, although Margarita Viktorovna herself is sure: she could play on stage for more than one year and delight fans of her work. Nevertheless, Anastasyeva quietly left the theater and took up writing, she wrote a book telling about the history of the Blumenfeld-Anastasyev family, and about her famous grandfather, Felix Mikhailovich Blumenfeld, a composer and pianist.
