Even becoming adults, many still do not stop believing in a fairy tale, in this fictitious kind world, the bizarre inhabitants of which always mentally return us to childhood, to such a carefree time for everyone.
The Spanish woman Rosa M Grueso is a girl for whom a fairy tale has become a life. She grew up as a dreamy child, she believed in the existence of a fantastic world. It is this faith that now helps her to create and embody her fantasies and ideas in doll sculptures.
The talented 27-year-old from Barcelona has been working on creating fairy dolls since 2005. The girl sculpts her characters by hand, working with polymer clay, without using molds. Her dolls are first born in the imagination, and then skillful hands themselves draw the subtlest image of a mermaid, a fairy, a forest faun and other magical characters.
As an artist recognized as "mentally retarded", for 60 years he painted girls warriors: Henry Darger's Unreal Kingdom
In 1972, photographer Nathan Lerner decided to tidy up the room of his sick lodger - a lonely old man who had worked as a janitor in a Chicago hospital all his life. Among the trash - numerous boxes, skeins of twine, glass balls and magazines - he found several handwritten books and more than three hundred illustrations to them. The content of the book was unusual. The author's name was Henry Darger, and throughout his life he created the story of the war of children against adults
Realistic looking sculptures are nothing new in the art world. And Madame Tussaud's wax figures are from the last century. Nowadays it is fashionable to use modern biomaterials and silicone, so that the sculptures would not look like mannequins, but like living people who seemed to have stopped for a moment, thinking about something of their own, and are about to wake up and continue their journey. The works of the Australian sculptor Patricia Piccinini are also "real"
Each of us many times at different moments of life dreamed of changing reality a little at our own discretion, improving it, making it more interesting, correcting only one little thing. We dream about it, and photographer Dan Escobar does it all the time. Moreover, he not only mastered graphic editors like Photoshop well, he elevated his possession of them into art
Actually, few people in the world like steps. Most people either hate fiercely or treat them neutrally, as in an inevitable part of the universe. But the American-German duo Lang Baumann (Sabina Lang and Daniel Baumann) love the stairs. And they teach them to love the rest of the species. Of course, with the help of your own creativity
Each doll from Lydia Snul is unique, they all have their own character, history and names. But they also have something in common: these gentle, fabulous creatures with pale skin and a sad face radiate a special, unearthly beauty, but they look a little lost, as if they were unexpectedly pulled out into this alien world for them, and they do not know at all that im here to do. But, as Lydia says: "Probably, this has its own share of charm, as well as in everything that does not want to fit into the framework of the usual"
