There is something in these cyborg sculptures that catches the eye, and you want to stand and look at even the smallest details of these majestic works. Steampunk sculptural hybrids by French artist Pierre Matter are a prime example of how nature and technological progress have merged into one.
Pierre Matter was born in 1964. A mathematician by profession, he was looking for his real calling for a long time, wandering the paths of art. He tried his hand at painting, painted with oil paints, poster paints and watercolors. But he found himself in sculpture. French master Pierre Matter works in the spirit of steampunk, creating his sculptures, which are hybrids of cars, people and animals. Pierre Matter has been creating all of his amazing steampunk sculptures for more than ten years in his garage, using materials such as copper, aluminum, rubber, and other improvised means. Some of the sculptural works of the cyborgs of the French master, being a combined artistic expression of the natural world and technical civilization, can weigh more than 1.5 tons.
These are not the sculptures that one would like to put in the living room as decoration, these prize-winning works take their rightful place in the most prestigious galleries around the world.
You can see more of Pierre Matter's works in the gallery.
