Remember, in what images do people most often appear at fancy-dress parties? Witches, vampires, different variations of superheroes … Boring and very predictable. But the masks and costumes created by the hero of our article today, Kepa Rasmussen, are certainly not boring. But a lot of other epithets can be applied to them: strange, at times bordering on insanity, in places repulsive, but, most importantly, unforgettable.
Aardvark K Mask is an amazing brand created by Spanish author Kepa Rasmussen. Most often, his work is called masks, but the designer himself insists that in his work he goes beyond the traditional understanding of the mask. From the point of view of Rasmussen, it would be more correct to describe his works as "wearable sculpture". Let's not argue - the author always knows better what exactly he is doing.
The sculptures by Kepa Rasmussen are based on papier-mâché, which the author supplements with a wide variety of materials. The designer's works are unique: two identical works simply do not exist. Therefore, if you decide to purchase one of his crazy costumes, you can rest assured that no one will ever repeat your outfit, but everyone will remember it.
Kepa Rasmussen lives and works in Glasgow. He is a graphic designer by training, but currently he prefers to work on his sculptures. As part of the activities of the company Aardvark K Masks, Kepa works with both individual customers and representatives of the fashion and film industries. You can see more of the author's work on his website.
