"In order to prevent the spread of a new coronavirus infection on the territory of the Russian Federation, I order the heads of museums and organizations that carry out exhibition activities under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Culture of Russia: to suspend the admission of visitors to museums and organizations carrying out exhibition activities. circuses, other performing arts organizations, as well as organizations carrying out public screenings of films: suspend operations for visitors, "the text says.
Earlier, the closure was announced by the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, the Tretyakov Gallery, the Historical Museum, the Victory Museum, the Museum of Moscow, the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art and a number of other federal, city and private museums. The Bolshoi Theater and some other theaters have canceled performances. Some performances will be presented online, the rest will be refunded. Libraries also suspend their work, reports TASS.
The ministry's message contains comments from cultural figures who supported the introduction of restrictive measures. "I really hope that the epidemic will subside, and there will be no need to extend and extend the quarantine.
