Death turns into life, makes unclaimed and unnecessary things useful and necessary, and also shocks, shocks, surprises, - Czech artist Roman Tyts (Roman Tc) always very busy. However, he is very eager to share the results of his labor with society, rather watching what reactions they cause in people. Last year in the Prague gallery Dvorak Sec Contemporary one of the most scandalous expositions of this author took place: he showed the public a series of his paintings entitled " Grave robber"painted … by the ashes of dead and cremated people. Despite the defiant name, which can be translated as" Tomb Raider ", Roman Tyts does not at all rob graves and crypts in the cemetery at night in search of buried urns with human ashes. According to the author of the exhibition, he uses only the ashes that do not fit in the urns given out by the relatives of the cremated deceased, and only with their direct consent. and loved ones participated in the creation of masterpieces of modern art, and did not go to a landfill or to the toilet.
Known for his extraordinary and outrageous art projects, Roman Tyts has already gained fame as an eccentric, whose work borders on philosophy and absurdity, and there are almost as many outraged spectators as there are satisfied fans of modern non-standard art. A series of pictures of human remains should make people think about the fleetingness of life, the philosophy of death, once again remind that life and death go hand in hand, and someone's end can become someone's beginning, and the death of one can give life to another.
The exposition of paintings from the ashes of cremated people in the Dvorak Sec Contemporary gallery caused a huge resonance, and the queue of those wishing to see the amazing works of the Czech maestro, which formed at the walls of the gallery from early morning, did not diminish until the evening. The Grave Robber series consists of 19 portraits from human ashes, and more about the project and its author - on the Dvorak Sec Contemporary website.
