Artist Hong Yi (Hong Yi, Malaysia), also known as Red, never ceases to amaze her fans with the originality of the materials used in her work. This time the girl chose tea bags. Hong Yi used them instead of paints to create a panel called "Teh tarik man".
The Malaysian artist very often uses motives that reflect the culture of her country in her works. The painting depicts a man making tea "Teh tarik" … In Malaysia, this is a special ceremony in which the drink is poured from one dish to another accompanied by almost acrobatic performances.
It took the artist more than 2 months to create a painting with a height of 3, 2 meters and a weight of almost 200 kilograms. 20,000 tea bags were sewn together and attached to a wire mesh. The panel uses 10 different shades. To achieve a variety of colors, the girl soaked the bags in water at different temperatures.
Hong Yi also used a drink to create a different, but equally creative work. She drew picture of footprints of cups with coffee.
