Chris Payne's photographs are mesmerizing with their variety of shapes and deliberate geometry. Chris is professionally engaged in architecture, photography is just a hobby. The textile industry interested him because it is easy to draw an analogy between a building and a fabric. The author of the photo cycle states: "Just like a building is made of bricks and other building materials, textile materials are made from yarn and threads."

Chris Payne is convinced that it is his knowledge of architecture that helps him better compose images. He says that while working on the photo cycle, he learned a lot about the art of textiles: “When I began to take an interest in this topic, I knew practically nothing about the clothes I wear every day. People do not think about how the fabric is created, what materials are used for this, what production processes exist. Chris Payne was surprised to discover how diverse the textile industry is, how much it differs from that level of development. Which was a couple of decades ago. New fabrics are constantly appearing, equipment is being improved, fashion is changing. The photographer does not plan to stop there, he is sure that new discoveries await him ahead.
