Greenland island - an incredibly quiet and peaceful place where, in the middle of the sea and ice, you can relax your soul. Isn't that where the famous photojournalist tired of wars, disasters and natural disasters can go? This is probably what the famous Associated Press photographer was counting on. Brennan Linsley (Brennan Linsley), who went to Greenland on a long business trip. We don't know how about rest, but he definitely found inspiration there - you can see this by looking at his photo from the cycle dedicated to the ice island and his life.
Brennan Linsley is a Pulitzer Prize-winning and well-known truth hunter, in particular, he participated in the investigative journalism at Guantanamo Bay. Slightly tired of deadlines and responsible missions, he recently traveled to Greenland, which resulted in all these photos.
Greenland islandit would probably be more correct to call it Vidlandia (grøn in Danish is green, and hvid is "white") - if only the Danes, sailing to its southern end, could imagine the vast snow-covered expanses of the "green land". England, France, Holland, Norway, Italy could fit on its territory, and there would still be room for Denmark - the country to which these millions of square kilometers of the glacier belong. In Greenland, contrary to the name, you will not find much greenery, and there is not enough land there. There, in the relatively warm south, even now only 57 thousand people live, 90% of whom are indigenous people, Inuit.
Greenland still largely lives on whale hunting and fishing (albeit with modern technology): the narwhal's tusk and kayaking accessories, shot by a photographer in the house of an Inuit Eskimo, speak volumes about the importance of sea fishing.
Still, Greenland's main source of income is Danish subsidies. The huge island not only does not bring any profit to Denmark, but also requires considerable expenses. Nevertheless, the Danes are not going to get rid of it. What if global warming comes, the ice will melt, and greenland island will really turn green earth?
