The art of creating miniatures (boats are especially popular) in empty bottles is a common thing, thousands and thousands of people around the world are doing it. Here comes the Japanese artist Akinobu Izumi went in this business much further. He creates his miniatures not ordinary, but in miniature bottles!
Bottle miniatures have long outgrown themselves. And this art gave rise to many other arts related to it, but they went further. For example, the three-dimensional engraving on bottles, which is done by Charlotte Hughes-Martin, or the creation of miniatures in flasks, which is done by Akinobu Izumu.
After all, everyone can create something small in relatively large bottles, with a certain skill and training. But to create absolutely miniatures in tiny flasks is, indeed, a non-trivial task.
Surprisingly and incredibly, the dimensions of the miniature flasks in which Akinobu Izumu creates his miniatures are only 22 millimeters high and 12 millimeters wide. And, nevertheless, they can build a whole world inside them! Therefore, a series of his works Izumu called "Tiny World in a Bottle" ("Tiny world in a bottle").
In these cones, thanks to the incredible efforts and skills of Akinobu Izumu, you can see a sunken sailing ship, a Viking boat, a Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton, an alley in a park with a tree, a bench and a couple of lovers, as well as an uninhabited tropical island.
Despite its diminutive size, each of the works in the "Tiny World in a Bottle" series requires dozens of hours of painstaking, strenuous, filigree and nervous work. After all, one careless movement, and this miniature beauty will be irretrievably destroyed!
