Some people living abroad believe that alternative art did not exist in Soviet times, and that artists did not paint anything except portraits of Lenin and scenes from the life of the Soviets. And the residents of the post-Soviet space themselves do not know so much about their talented compatriots. Let's imagine today one of them - Francisco Infante-Arana.

Francisco is a Russian artist. Do not be confused by his name: the artist's father is Spaniard, and his mother is Russian, he was born and raised in Russia.

There is no place for CGI or Photoshop in Francisco's work. And where do they come from if they were made in the 70s and 80s of the last century? To create interesting and unusual effects, Infante-Arana used mirrors of various shapes and sizes, ropes and ropes, thus achieving a play of light and shadow. Francisco places mirrors on the water, hangs them in the air, sets them at one angle or another - and the end result sometimes comes out completely unexpected.

"I can't find the ends and beginnings, I can't explain why and where did the acute experience of first INFINITY, and then the SECRETS of the world come from. But it was the search for results from these experiences that somehow accompanied my movement in art," the artist's work is better than Francisco himself did.
