Have you ever looked at a photograph and, deep down, realized that something is wrong with it, even though you don't even know what? You don't understand what exactly is wrong in the picture, and yet you continue to find it a little strange. These are the feelings that a series of Brandon Voges photographs evokes, where all the people were upside down at the time of the photograph.
The idea of the author is, in general, simple. The person was hung upside down, photographed, and the finished photograph was turned upside down again. As a result, the effect is created that the person is in a normal vertical position at the time of the picture, but something is wrong with him: his hair is too tousled, and the appearance is kind of eccentric … Although if you do not know how the photographs were taken, then it is difficult to guess this at first glance.
A series of photographs received a simple and logical name - "Upside Downy Face Portraits" The photographs, of course, do not pretend to be high art objects, but they are very funny and creative.
Brandon Voges is originally from St. Louis (Missouri, USA). He is one of three photographers currently working with Bruton Stroube.
