This is a great thing - LEGO! Anyone can do literally anything with it. Someone, according to the instructions, collects toy cars and locks, someone creates unique things like Lego shoes for Lego Cinderella, and someone invites other people to show their imagination with the help of this constructor. For example, architectural company Krads, who arranged an unusual installation with title "Playtime"representing LEGO Workshop.
Each of the residents of Iceland and guests of this small island nation can become a potential architect. To do this, it is not at all necessary to study for many years in architectural academies, to be able to draw or even distinguish a balcony from a window. All you need to do is come to the Reykjavik Art Museum for the Playtime exhibition.
After all, this exposition is a huge table with a large number of LEGO bricks of different shapes and colors. These cubes are the main building material for future buildings.
The fact is that the Krads company invites any visitor to participate in an architectural workshop, to become the author of their own building or part of a building, which will then merge together into a huge LEGO city.
Anyone can create some kind of architectural element, come up with the shape of a house, bridge or any other structure and build it right there. At the same time, the most daring and unusual fantasies are encouraged. Specialists from Krads will be engaged in the integration of new objects into the toy city of the future created within the framework of the exhibition.
At the disposal of amateur architects who have decided to contribute to the creation of this city, sixty-five kilograms of LEGO bricks. Some of them are on the table, while others are constantly reported to it as stocks are depleted there. So, visitors to the exposition should not be afraid that the cubes may suddenly end right in the middle of the construction of a skyscraper or a bridge.
Krads promises to take a close look at the results obtained during "Playtime" and then implement the most interesting elements in their future projects.
