On March 18, the National Geographic Traveler Photo Contest 2014 started, which will run until June 30 this year. The event is sponsored by the famous international geographic community “National Geographic Society”. The main prize is an 8-day trip as part of a scientific expedition to Alaska. The competition is open to adult photographers from different countries. The exceptions are those living in Cuba, Iran, New Jersey, North Korea, Sudan and Syria, as well as relatives and friends of members of the National Geographic Society.
The conditions for participation in the competition are simple. The photo must be taken no later than 2 years before participating in the competition. The registration fee for all photographers is $ 15. All images are taken in digital form only.
Photos must be free of watermarks, inscriptions and computer processing. The last condition, given the abundance of "photoshopped" pictures on the Internet, pleases most of all. The competition works will be evaluated in 2 stages. The judges will first select the top 10 entries in each category. The second round will determine the winner for each of the sections.
We have already shown in one of the previous reviews the first works of the participants of the competition. Who knows, maybe there is a winning shot among them, which will send the author on an expedition to Alaska. Time will tell whether it is true or not. But the fact that all the photos were taken by extremely talented people is a fact.
