Ice caves not only amaze the imagination of tourists with their beauty, they are perceived as miraculous miracles - magic, which a person cannot repeat. One of these caves is located in Skaftafell Natural Park in Iceland, it is formed by centuries-old ice layers.
The glaciers that form the walls of this extraordinarily beautiful cave are so "compressed" that they practically do not contain air bubbles. The lack of air causes the walls of the cave to literally absorb all visible light, excluding blue. This explains the fact that the walls of Skaftafell amaze tourists with their unusual color - it seems that they are lined with sapphires, this can be seen even with the naked eye. This optical trick can not always be seen: usually in winter, prolonged rains wash away the upper layer of glaciers, and then from the inside the cave begins to shine like a precious stone. In addition, such a unique phenomenon can be observed on colorful icebergs that turn over in the water, and their surface also looks blue.
The cave was formed as a result of the fact that rain and melt water accumulates on the glacier, and then, flowing down in a powerful stream, forms a kind of tunnels. As already noted, the “ceiling” and “walls” of this mysterious tunnel are painted blue, but the “floor” of the cave is dark muddy tones, this effect is created by sedimentary rocks that “freeze” into the “bottom” of the glacier.
Perhaps, in its beauty, Skaftafell can be compared only with the largest ice cave Eisriesenwelt, one of the attractions of Austria, which we also talked about on the website Culturology.ru

One million coffee beans. One World, One Family, One Coffee: another mosaic of Saimir Strati
This Albanian maestro, multiple "record holder" for mosaics, Saimir Strati, has already been met by the readers of Culturology.Ru on the pages of the site. It was he who created a painting of 300,000 screws and a portrait of Leonardo da Vinci from nails, and also laid out images from corks and toothpicks. And the new mosaic, on which the author is working today, probably cost him more than one hundred cups of strong aromatic coffee, since he lays it out from a million coffee beans
Visiting the Snow Queen: The Eisriesenwelt - the largest ice cave
In an age of fantastic discoveries and high technology, people often lack simplicity of feelings and sincerity in relationships. Friendship, self-sacrifice, love - this is so little in everyday life, but in abundance in the fairy-tale world. Perhaps one of the brightest stories is the tale of H.K. Andersen about Kai and Gerd. Surprisingly, in Austria there is a place where everyone can find themselves literally in the palaces of the Snow Queen. It is the largest ice cave of the Eisriese
Unknown landmarks: one of the oldest cemeteries in Europe
Since ancient times, Jews have called the cemetery a garden. When you get to the Jewish cemetery in Prague, you understand why. Old trees, graves overgrown with grass, countless gravestones - a labyrinth of destinies, from which only stones remained. The stones tilted from old age, the rain and wind erased the names, and with them the memories. But at the same time, the Prague Jewish cemetery is still one of the most popular tourist destinations today
