He was known as a man with a hot temperament, who loved gambling, partying and dueling. Until the last days of his life, he remained an unbridled rake and amorous romantic. Short, sickly built, not distinguished by external beauty, he won the hearts of the most desirable women of his time. He is the great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin
The theme of love is one of the leading in the work of Pushkin. This lofty feeling accompanied the poet on his heels. Each new passion was taken by Alexander Sergeevich for true love. The poet idolized, suffered, dedicated poetry to his beloved and burned with feelings, but often they burned out too quickly. Once he made a playful Don Juan list of women who somehow sunk into his soul. And the main Russian poet had it spacious, which made it possible to fit in as many as thirty-seven women.
Lyceum love of a young poet
In November 1815, the young lyceum student Alexander Pushkin met his friend's sister Ekaterina Bakunina. Platonic love with its "serene longing" and "happiness of secret torment" was reflected in many lines written by Pushkin of that period.
Ekaterina Pavlovna was a maid at the Russian court, a lover of painting and a student of Alexander Bryulov.
Echoes of youthful enthusiasm can be traced in the original version of Eugene Onegin, but the stanza dedicated to Bakunina was not included in the final version of the novel in verse.
Funny "love" story
Their meeting took place in 1819 in the salon of Ekaterina Andreevna, the wife of the famous historical figure Karamzin. Her salon was the only one in St. Petersburg, where conversations were conducted only in Russian and did not play shtos. Visiting Ekaterina Karamzina gathered the cream of society, the best representatives of the Petersburg intelligentsia. Among them was the poet Pushkin.
Catherine in her youth was distinguished by her beauty, which fell into the eyes of Alexander Sergeevich. He sent the woman a love note, over which the Karamzin spouses laughed, and then had a moralizing conversation with Pushkin. Since then, he has become a good friend of the couple.
Mysterious NN in Pushkin's life
It is impossible to say with certainty whose name the poet hid in this mysterious NN. However, of all the assumptions, the most probable is Lyudmila Inglezi (Shekora).
She was a rare beauty of gypsy blood, and she also liked the young poet. But their relationship did not last long, since Lyudmila's husband found out about her. He challenged Pushkin to a duel, but a bloody outcome was avoided thanks to the old man Inzov, who accompanied the poet in exile.
This southern passion manifested itself in such poems as "The Fountain of Bakhchisarai" and "Gypsies".
Princess of the Night
Evdokia Ivanovna Golitsina is the daughter of Senator Izmailov. The girl is erudite, but not very smart, but beautiful. In addition - well-developed taste and noble manners.
Her elegantly decorated salon attracted a small but extremely sophisticated audience. Conversations in the companies dragged on until the morning, for which Princess Golitsyna received the nickname "Princess of the Night". The ardent nature of Pushkin could not resist the charms of the beautiful princess.
The daughter of a Greek witch
In the middle of 1821, a fugitive Greek sorceress from Constantinople with a young daughter Calypso appeared in Kishinev. She was short and fragile, with refined features, which were spoiled only by a long hooked nose. The girl spoke four languages and had a beautiful melodic voice.
Pushkin, who was interested in everything different from the surrounding reality, could not help but notice this thoroughbred Greek woman. The poet was so fascinated by Calypso that he dedicated a poem to her, and also painted her portrait.
Two Odessa passions of Alexander Pushkin
In 1823, Pushkin visited Odessa and experienced two stormy falls at the same time.
Amalia Riznich is the wife of an Odessa merchant of Serbian origin. In her veins flowed Polish and Aryan blood, which manifested itself in snow-white skin, slender physique and sophistication.
The charm of this woman carried the poet into a whirlpool of hot passion. Soon Amalia betrayed Pushkin and fled to Italy with a Polish landowner.
"Eliza" or Elizaveta Vorontsova is the wife of the Novorossiysk Governor-General, with whom the poet's best friend, Alexander Raevsky, was also in love. Many of Pushkin's poems were dedicated to this countess with a chiseled profile. But Elizabeth reciprocated the same Raevsky.
Pushkin's passion caused discord between friends. Raevsky even made attempts to exile the poet to Mikhailovskoye. Vorontsova's husband knew about her "difficult" relationship with both men. As a result, Alexander Sergeevich was exiled to the family estate, and Raevsky followed him for speaking out against the government.
Easy relationships and hard rejection
Anna Alekseevna Olenina, seventeen-year-old maid of honor of outstanding beauty, sharp mind and taste. In 1828, Pushkin became interested in Olenina, but, as it turned out later, the relationship was more of an aesthetic nature. Their meetings were frequent, he dedicated many poems to her, but at the same time Pushkin showed the same courtship to A. Rosset, A. Zakrevskaya and Nettie Wulf.
At the beginning of 1829, the poet offered Anna Olenina his hand and heart, but the maid of honor's mother forbade her to give a positive answer.
The first wife of the poet
At the age of 16, Natasha was a rare beauty, already famous from the time of her first visit and who instilled passionate feelings in Pushkin's soul. Art and literature were not included in the circle of her interests, but Alexander Sergeevich was ready to sacrifice anything for the sake of marriage in Goncharova.
He was fed up with the recklessness of a bachelor life, and he hoped that the girl's restrained indifference would soon pass and be replaced by respect for mutual understanding. Pushkin was wrong, and this marriage was not happy. But months of desperate love paid off. It was during this period that many of his early works were completed and some of his most soulful and sensual poems were written.
