The next anniversary of the lifting of the blockade of Leningrad is increasingly alienating us from the terrible events of wartime, but we must not forget about the pain and suffering that ordinary residents of the rebellious city endured. Sergei Larenkov combines photographs of Leningrad during the war years with photographs of modern St. Petersburg taken from the same angle. The result is incredibly soulful and soul-catching photo collages.

And their contrast with today's calm city life is impressive and terrifying

The pictures taken by Natalia Drepina resemble the world of ugliness and beauty, where thin hands, pale faces, withered flowers, twisted branches, mirrors and dirt become an integral part of the plot. And it is not at all surprising that these works, executed in dark-cold colors, are similar to visual poetry, in which the main characters tell the viewer sad and at the same time unusually beautiful stories, fanned by a gloomy atmosphere of melancholy and romanticism
