When the screens came out film "Pokrovskie gates", the audience immediately drew attention to the young actress Valentina Voilkovwho played the "dream girl" of the protagonist Kostik. After that, she appeared in episodes of several more films, and then suddenly disappeared. For a long time nothing was known about her fate, then there were rumors that she emigrated to France and even that she died in a car accident.
Valentina Voilkova was born in 1958 in Kuibyshev (Samara). After leaving school, she entered GITIS, and then performed on the stage of the Theater of the Soviet Army. The film debut of the actress took place in 1978. She was lucky enough to star in Mark Zakharov's film "An Ordinary Miracle". And although she played a secondary role - the maid of honor of Princess Orinthia, Oleg Yankovsky, Yevgeny Leonov, Alexander Abdulov and Andrei Mironov became her partners on the set.
After the film debut, there were several more cameo roles in the films "The City Accepted", "Be My Husband" and "Ring from Amsterdam", but Valentina Voilkova's real finest hour was Mikhail Kozakov's lyric comedy "Pokrovskie Vorota", where she played Rita, "the girl of dreams »Kostika. After this film, the audience began to recognize Voilkova. She was called one of the most beautiful actresses of Soviet cinema of the 1980s.
Despite her success and popularity, directors continued to offer her supporting roles. In the 1980s. she has starred in Charlotte's Necklace, Inheritance, Prisoner of Chateau d'If and several other films. The last time she appeared on the screen in 1989 in the film "Romantic", and then disappeared from the cinema and from the theater.
For many years nothing was known about her fate. As it turned out later, in the late 1980s. the actress married a Frenchman and in 1991 went with him to France. Her husband was also involved in the film industry - his company was involved in dubbing films.
For several years, there was no news from Valentina Voilkova, she did not give interviews to journalists and did not tell anything about her life since she left. In 2008, there were rumors that the actress had died in a car accident. Since she did not get in touch, the news of her death quickly spread throughout the media. However, the information turned out to be false - and another Soviet actress, who emigrated to Paris at the same time, died in a car accident.
In December 2009, the program "Wait for Me" was released, on the air of which Vladimir Zeldin, former classmates and teachers of Valentina Voilkova tried to find her. They asked everyone who knew anything about her to respond, since the information about her fate was contradictory. A month later, the actress herself called Vladimir Zeldin, informing him that she was alive and well, that she lived with her husband in Paris and was engaged in dubbing and translating films.
Valentina Voilkova, who turned 59 in April, still lives in France. They say that several times she and her husband came to Samara to visit the graves of the actress's parents.
She no longer acted in films and remained an actress of one role for our viewers. But even this work is enough to make her name go down in history, because Kozakov's comedy has become a classic of Russian cinema, although critics predicted failure of the film "Pokrovskie Vorota".
