Any aspiring actress dreams of a role that will immediately make her recognizable and popular throughout the country. Daria Sagalova was lucky in this - a year after her film debut, she got the role that turned her into a real star at the age of 21 - Sveta Bukina in the series "Happy Together". In this image, the actress has appeared on the screens for seven years. Then she could not imagine that her brightest heroine would become the main obstacle in the further development of her acting career …
Daria Sagalova was born and raised in Podolsk near Moscow. Her parents worked as economists, but one of the grandmothers was a ballerina and gave her granddaughter a passion for dancing. When Dasha was 6 years old, her grandmother took her to the "Fantasy" choreographic school, where the girl soon became one of the soloists of the group. While performing at one of the dance competitions, the director of the State Theater of Film Actor drew attention to Sagalova's artistry and offered her the main role in the play "Cinderella". Although the production was later canceled, Daria was given another role - Princess Marie in The Nutcracker. This was the beginning of her acting career.
After leaving school, she entered the Moscow State University of Culture and Arts at the choreographic faculty. During her studies, Daria continued to perform on the stage of the Film Actor Theater and began to take part in castings. So at the age of 20 she got her first role in a movie - in Victor Merezhko's melodrama "Loneliness of Love". After that, she played several more supporting roles, and a year later she got her first leading role in the series "Happy Together" - the Russian version of the American sitcom Married … with Children.
Sagalova got the role of the daughter of a married couple Bukin, although in fact she was only 5 years younger than her screen mother - actress Natalia Bochkareva. At the age of 21, Daria played the 16-year-old Sveta Bukin, the first beauty of the school. Daria's heroine was a typical blonde from jokes, frivolous and not burdened with intelligence. In this image, she appeared in all seasons of the series for 7 years. During this time, the Bukin family acquired an army of thousands of fans, and Daria Sagalova, from a novice unknown actress, turned into one of the most recognizable and popular movie stars.
Daria was not ready for such a surge of attention to her person. She said: "".
At first, the actress was grateful for the role that brought her success. She said: "". Over time, she began to notice that Sveta Bukina began to replace her real one in the minds of many people, but in real life the actress was the complete opposite of her heroine. Sagalova has never been a frivolous blonde who changes fans like gloves. Family values have always been in the first place. At the age of 26, she married a man who has nothing to do with the world of show business, the couple had three children.
The role that became her calling card played a cruel joke on her: for 7 years everyone was so accustomed to the image of Sveta Bukina that neither the audience nor the directors represented the actress in a different role. All new proposals were of the same type - she was still invited to the roles of silly blondes, not trusting her with serious large-scale works. Daria Sagalova did not want to remain an actress in one role, and therefore rarely agreed to shoot in new films. In addition, she always tried to give maximum time and attention to her large family, because few actresses manage to combine a career with raising three children. Today she says that she would not agree to participate in projects with such a busy schedule, because filming in the series "Happy Together" was daily and did not leave time either for study or for family.
Nevertheless, Sagalova did not leave the profession. She periodically starred in those films that allow revealing new facets of her acting talent: for example, in 2011, in the detective series Hot On the Trail, Daria Sagalova played an intern in a special department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs dealing with the search for missing people, in 2014 she performed One of the main roles in two seasons of the fantastic series Secret City, in 2018 she appeared as a flight attendant in the comedy series Aircrew.
In addition to the acting profession, Daria Sagolova has other favorite activities. Her hobby for dancing remained from her youth, in 2008 she, together with Anton Kovalev, took first place in the television project "Dancing with the Stars", and a year later, after graduating from the university, she opened her own dance studio. In 2016, Sagalova received another higher education at the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University. Since 2009 she has been working in television as a host of entertainment shows.
Today, the 35-year-old actress does not worry about unplayed roles and feels completely happy. She says: "". They are no longer "happy together" with the Bukins, but behind the scenes of the series she managed to build a strong, happy family.
14 years have passed since the release of the first season of this project, and viewers still remember and love these characters: How the actors of the series "Happy Together" have changed.
