He began acting in films as a child, and no one doubted his talent except … his own father! Born into an acting family, Anton Tabakov learned from childhood all the complexities of the nomadic lifestyle of his parents. Oleg Tabakov and his wife Lyudmila Krylova toured all the time, Anton traveled with them from city to city and grew up behind the scenes of the Sovremennik Theater. Then he made friends with Mikhail Efremov and Denis Evstigneev, who also grew up in acting families.
Oleg Tabakov did not have time to raise children - he devoted all his strength to the theater. This could not but affect the character of Anton - he was a hooligan, had a conflict with the school director, and after the 8th grade he went to a school for working youth. And after classes, he spent time at concerts in the House of Actor, at performances in the theater and at film screenings at the House of Cinema. He had no doubts about his future profession - he started acting at the age of 6, at the age of 16 he played the main role in the film "Timur and His Team" and was going to continue his acting career in the future.
It was at that time that his father was recruiting students to the Moscow Art Theater School, and Anton hoped to enroll in his course, but Oleg Tabakov doubted his talent and discouraged him from this choice. Of course, this hurt his son - he accused his father of injustice, categoricalness and exaggerated demands. Galina Volchek helped Anton - she believed in him and helped prepare for admission. As a result, he was admitted to GITIS in the workshop of Andrei Goncharov. After graduation, Tabakov Jr. became an actor of the Sovremennik Theater, on the stage of which he performed for 10 years. In one of the performances, his own father did not recognize him - only after that all his doubts disappeared, and he took his son to his "Snuffbox".
From the late 1970s to the mid-1990s. films with the participation of Anton Tabakov came out one after another: "Dangerous Age", "Time and the Conway Family", "Tales of the Old Wizard", "The Man from the Boulevard des Capucines", "Lonely Player", "Thief", etc. But because of the crisis in cinema after the collapse of the USSR, the roles became less and less, and due to financial difficulties, Anton Tabakov decided to leave the acting profession.
Back in the late 1980s. he started organizing events and banquets, and the new business fascinated him so much that he decided to create his own art club "Pilot". This project turned out to be very successful, and Anton Tabakov devoted all his efforts to the restaurant business. As a restaurateur, he achieved considerable success: he opened several restaurants and coffee houses that were very popular with the capital's public.
In the mid-1990s. a scandal erupted, to which the attention of the general public was riveted: after 35 years of marriage, Oleg Tabakov left the family for actress Marina Zudina, who was 30 years younger than him. Anton and Alexandra supported the mother in this situation - later the artist's son said that he was offended not because his father left, but because of how he did it. Many believed that both the son and daughter of Oleg Tabakov left the acting profession from their first marriage for this very reason - in protest. After that, they did not communicate with their father for a long time.
For Anton's mother, this was such a blow that she was never able to forgive her ex-husband. Neither she nor Alexandra came to the funeral of Oleg Tabakov. Unlike his sister, who, due to her father's betrayal, completely stopped communicating with him, Anton Tabakov eventually found the strength to understand and forgive him.
