A whole army of white balloons, unexpectedly bursting out of doors and windows of architectural buildings and hovering among forests, is a unique art project organized by a famous French fashion photographer. As conceived by the author, the unusual installation is designed to draw the viewer's attention to everyday life, to offer a different look at everyday things.
Charles Petillon (Charles petillon) Is a renowned photographer working mainly with such major glossy magazines as Lui and VOGUE. This time, Charles decided to go beyond fashion photography and on February 20 at the House of Photography in Lille presented a unique art project called "Invasion" ("Invasion"). Bundles of white matte balls, as if nothing had happened soaring among the crowns of trees, unexpectedly bursting out of the windows and doors of small architectural buildings - an unusual installation dedicated to the life around us, which, according to the author, deserves more attention than we pay to it.
Heaps of balloons are a kind of metaphor with which Petillon wants to invite the viewer to take a fresh look at the events taking place around them. An art project is a photographer's attempt to replace the practical perception of reality with an aesthetic one. Today, many take the life around them for granted. Meanwhile, everything around is nothing more than a real miracle, which people often forget to enjoy.
The exhibition at the House of Photography in Lille will run until March 22, 2015.
