Photos taken in Dead Valley (Dead Vlei) can be mistaken for the unfinished canvases of Salvador Dali - the atmosphere of unreality is so strong in these places. The viewer will need some effort to see the terrestrial landscape in them and to believe that the images have not been processed in any graphic editors.
Frans Lanting, the author of these photos, made in Dead Valley more than 16 thousand shots, "hunting" for the perfect frame. As a guide to photography enthusiasts, he says, "Always, always, always use the drama of lighting (and composition, of course) to go beyond just capturing reality."
Dead valley is in Namibia and is a huge pit filled with white clay and surrounded by numerous dunes. It was formed as follows: as a result of the strongest downpours that provoked the exit of the river Tsauchab from the banks, in numerous flooded areas, favorable conditions have developed for the growth of the so-called “camel acacias”. All these trees once bloomed here in lush bloom until one day there was a severe drought in these places.
It happened about 900 years ago, and since then hundreds of "skeletons" of acacias have remained in the places where they were caught by the cataclysm. In conditions of low humidity, trees do not decompose, and the black color of their trunks and branches appeared as a result of slow charring.
Since then, nothing has changed in the valley and is unlikely to change in the future, since the water's path is blocked by dunes, whose height reaches four hundred meters.

What is common between the work of Picasso and antiquity: Inimitable-imitated works of the genius of Cubism and Surrealism
Pablo Picasso needs no introduction. Cubist painter, draftsman, ceramist, sculptor and printmaker, he remains one of the most influential figures in modern cultural history. However, while he was at the very epicenter of contemporary art, many of his sources of inspiration were drawn directly from the ancient past. This is not surprising, since artists have always looked back. But the way antiquity reappeared over and over again in the works of Picasso was yes

Dead fly - decoration of the Day of the Dead in Mexico
Giant insects attacking cities is a typical plot of low-budget horror films. Of course, nothing like this can happen in reality, in spite of any radiation and genetic experiments of mad scientists. The only ones who can really create a giant fly or cockroach are artists. For example, Florentijn Hofman

Deconstruction - the desire to disassemble and reassemble in a different order - is one of the fundamental techniques of postmodernism, regularly used in literature, painting, sculpture and even cinema.
