The whole life of this actor was amazing. As a child, he became a companion of Tsarevich Alexei and an object for exercises in photographing the daughters of Nicholas II. He began acting in films at the age of 46, managed to play many bright roles and only one - the main one, in the film by Elem Klimov "Sport, Sport, Sport". The audience remembered him in "Prisoner of the Caucasus" in the form of an old man, to whom the hero Vitsin passes a mug of beer, and in "Diamond Hand" as an accompanying formidable house manager.

His whole life from birth was like an exciting adventure. It all began from the moment of his birth on February 3, 1895, when a simple rural teacher, who accidentally entered the house of Danila and Anastasia Pinkovsky in the Svechkovka farm in the Poltava region, had to give birth.

The wife of the head of the family suddenly fainted at the sight of the woman who entered, and the teacher had a chance to take on the duties of a midwife. She also prophesied to the baby: he will definitely become an honored soldier. After that, the priest, who baptized the baby, confused the name and instead of Yegorushka christened him Gregory.

When the baby grew up a little, the family moved to the capital, where the father immediately assigned the youngest son to the Jung school, after which Grigory Pinkovsky was enrolled as a soloist of the choir on the imperial yacht "Standart". Already at that time, Gregory was distinguished by his extraordinary artistry. Thanks to his ability to cheer anyone up, and also skillfully to dance in his arms, he became the companion of the Tsarevich for two whole years. The tsar's daughters were practicing photography at that time and every day they gave the nimble cabin boy a picture, and even ordered the tsarist photographer to shoot Grinka on film.

After being fired from Shtandart, Grigory Pinkovsky tried to master many professions. As a result, he became a conductor, learned to play the violin, taught dance and even served as a choir director. And then, on the advice and recommendation of Meyerhold himself, he became a student at the theater institute, where he was admitted without exams. He became a pop artist, toured a lot. It so happened that his name was confused in the documents, indicating George instead of Gregory. But the surname "Svetlani" was deliberately taken by the actor in honor of a very important event in his life.

Unexpected happiness

Fate brought him to the city of Kirsanov, Tambov region, where he met his Apollinaria at a dance. The girl once appeared on the dance floor in an old dress and with some incredible white scarf on her shoulders. Grigory Pinkovsky fell in love instantly. He stood like a thunderbolt, but he was able to quickly pull himself together and invited the stranger to dance.

Young people began to meet, and only after Grinka made an offer to his Polenka, he suddenly heard: she had already been married. However, the past of his beloved was no longer interested in him. True, he was not quite ready for the surprises that his wife presented to him during the first three years of marriage.

The charming Apollinaria was indeed married to a wealthy Pole, lived with him in a large house and even managed to have three children. Upon learning that her husband was not at all loyal to her, a young woman of 21 years of age resolutely took the children and left the traitor.

And after she became the wife of Grigory Pinkovsky, every year she introduced her husband to the child. In general, he did not consider Polenka's children an obstacle to happiness, but still dreamed of becoming a dad himself.

During a tour in Sweden in 1925, Grigory Danilovich received an urgent telegram in which his wife informed him about the birth of his daughter Svetlana. Out of an excess of feelings, the happy father wrote poetry for the first time in his life.

So he took the pseudonym Svetlani. Soon, due to confusion in the documents, the artist was renamed to George and since then everyone has known him as George Svetlani, the consummate master of reincarnation and the real king of the episode.

With his wife, Georgy Svetlani lived together for many years. They began performing together on the stage, and their incredibly colorful duet enjoyed success with the viewer. When Georgy and Apollinaria took the stage, the audience immediately began to smile involuntarily.

She was a tall, stately beauty with a regal bearing, which men always paid attention to. Georgy Svetlani was small and dry, very emotional and eccentric. In the program "2-Svetlani-2" they played in contrast and looked very comical.

George Svetlani loved his daughter, it seems, more than anyone else in the world. He touchingly took care of her, called her Sunny and rushed to her as soon as he had a free minute. He told the girl about his childhood and about his partnership with Tsarevich Alexei, talked about the countries and cities he had visited.

Svetlana, when she grew up, also became an actress, graduated first from the music and theater school, then from GITIS, performed at the Hermitage pop theater, then at the Moscow Transport Theater, and then worked at the Mosconcert and in the women's pop orchestra. After completing her artistic career, she became a music teacher.

Georgy Svetlani was proud of his daughter's successes even more than of his own. His life was bright, filled with events and interesting meetings. He was a happy man, Georgy Svetlani, a companion of His Highness, a loving husband and a caring dad.

Georgy Svetlani was one of those actors whom the audience knew for sure by sight, but at the same time they did not remember their last name and could hardly name the films in which they starred. And all because Georgy Danilovich is an unsurpassed master of the episode. How was he able to make friends with the royal family, for which he was fired from the imperial yacht and how did George Svetlani manage to become an actor?
