Her story was unprecedented at the very beginning of her creative career: in the 9th grade, Larisa Dolina became a member of the Volna musical ensemble, and she managed to get permission to graduate from school by correspondence, contrary to the current law on universal ten-year education. She performed in this ensemble for 2 years and soon became a rather famous artist in Odessa. When she sang in the restaurant of the Black Sea Hotel, many visitors specially came there to listen to her. Later she moved to Yerevan, where she performed for VIA "Armina" for 4 years.

Dolina called her role in the film "We Are From Jazz" a real find and admitted that she got real pleasure on the set, although she was unhappy with her appearance on the screen. In order to turn her into a dark-skinned Cuban singer, 12 different shades of makeup were applied to her skin every day, she steadfastly spent 6 hours in the dressing room. But at the same time, the final result could hardly be called very successful, about which the Valley said: "". But the director himself admitted that the singer's makeup really looked incredible due to poor lighting in the frame. At the same time, the Valley created such a vivid image and sang in such a way that the audience hardly paid attention to these shortcomings.

Complex make-up was not the biggest difficulty on set back then. The fact is that Larisa Dolina was filming then, being 6 months pregnant. She was kept in the maternity hospital, and the director personally took her from there every day against a receipt for the shooting and brought her back himself. The most difficult episode was the passage up the stairs, about which the singer told: "". 1983 became a landmark for Larisa Dolina: the film "We are from Jazz" was released, the singer got married and gave birth to a daughter, Angelina.

For the 55th anniversary of the singer Maxim Dunaevsky and Nikolai Denisov wrote the musical "Love and Espionage", where she performed the main role. She called this work the main event in her creative life and the fulfillment of an old dream - to sing, dance and play a serious dramatic role. Mata Hari, played by Larisa Dolina, looked not just a spy, but a strong and courageous nature, and at the same time a very lonely woman who had gone through her husband's betrayal and the loss of a child.

The largest number of controversies was caused by the participation of Larisa Dolina in the filming of the film "Sorcerers". After it was released, many criticized the filmmakers for the fact that the image of a little girl Nina Pukhova performed by Ani Ashimova contrasted strongly with the voice of an adult vocalist, which sounded in her song. Dolina performed the legendary hit "Three White Horses" brilliantly, and although she sang it in a child's falsetto, sophisticated listeners guessed that the voice belongs to an adult singer.
