In 1984, Saeko Yamaguchi received a special prize at the Mainichi Fashion Awards.
The Japanese beauty inspired Kansai Yamamoto and Issei Miyake, and in 1978 she became the muse of Kenzo Takada, who created a unique collection of clothes. When she appeared in the finale of the runway show with the fashion designer, the audience burst into applause.
