Boris Egorov was born in 1937 in Moscow. He was named after his father, a famous surgeon, director of the Burdenko Institute Boris Yegorov. True, the boy's relationship with his father did not go well: when he was 14, his mother died, and his father married a second time, which his son perceived as a betrayal. Later, he completely stopped communicating with Egorov Sr. True, this did not prevent him from choosing the same path - like his father, however, like his mother, who was also a doctor, Boris was fond of medicine.

After leaving school, Boris Egorov entered the Moscow Medical Institute, where he immersed himself in the study of the newest direction of medicine - he investigated the influence of space conditions on human health. Egorov became one of the pioneers of this industry, which was only gaining momentum in those days in the USSR.

Boris Egorov received the same special training as other employees of the Institute of Aviation and Space Medicine, and his first combat duty took place on April 12, 1961, during the flight of Yuri Gagarin, however, his help was not required then. A year later, he became part of a group of doctors who were preparing for a flight into space. He had several advantages over competitors: by that time, Egorov had published about 10 scientific papers on medicine and was preparing to defend his dissertation, besides, he was younger and physically stronger than other doctors and scientists who were among the applicants.

October 12, 1964 Boris Yegorov called the happiest day in his life - then his flight into space took place, which lasted 24 hours and 17 minutes. The crew managed to complete all tasks and carry out all the necessary medical experiments. For this flight, Yegorov was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. It is interesting that while they were in space, significant changes took place on earth - Leonid Brezhnev replaced Nikita Khrushchev as head of the USSR.

After that, Boris Egorov has not been in space. In 1967 he defended his thesis and continued his scientific activity in the field of medical and biological problems. Even in his student years, Yegorov married a classmate, a beautiful blonde Eleanor Mordvinkina. The couple had a son, who was named Boris by family tradition. However, the student marriage quickly fell apart. In addition, Yegorov became famous, he was surrounded by the most beautiful women of the USSR, and he could not resist the temptation.

Once while visiting, he met the actress Natalya Fateeva, who, after the release of the comedy "Three plus two," was at the peak of popularity. For her sake, he divorced his wife and married a movie star.
