Video: 12 historical coincidences that are hard to believe in reality

Each of us at least once in our life has come across coincidences: phrases spoken at the same time, a meeting with a person whom we have only thought of, magical dates and numbers that haunt us throughout our lives. But history knows many amazing cases that cannot otherwise be explained by the intervention of otherworldly forces. And the fact that they are really real is hard to believe. Of course, everyone decides for himself whether this is a coincidence or mysticism, but the stories that we will tell about took place. And these are facts, in many cases documented.
1. Edgar Poe described in the book the events that happened many years later
Some historians seriously believe that Poe could move in a time machine, or at least had the ability to look into the future. And there are good reasons for this.
In the book "The Story of the Adventures of Arthur Gorodon Pym," the writer told about 4 sailors who survived the wreck of their ship. Finding themselves without food, they decided to eat one of them. And this unfortunate boy turned out to be Richard Parker. Edgar Poe assured that the events described in the work actually happened. True, he forgot to indicate what they would happen in the future. Almost half a century later there was a shipwreck, and again 4 survived, and three were forced to eat one of the team members. You have probably already guessed who their choice fell on. Yes, the boy Richard Parker was out of luck. By the way, during the interrogation, the sailors claimed that they had never read the aforementioned book.
2. The predicted fate of the Titanic
Here's further confirmation that writers can predict the future. In 1898, the book Futility, written by Morgan Robertson, was published. In his novel, the author spoke about the fate of the Titan ship. When the real Titanic disaster struck 14 years later, many again decided to re-read the work to once again be convinced of the amazing coincidences. Judge for yourself. The ships had almost identical names. In addition, both hit the iceberg. The technical parameters were also similar. In addition, the liners were considered unsinkable.
3. Unsinkable Violet
If we talk about the "Titanic", then on board was a passenger who managed to survive not only during its crash, but also miraculously escaped in another terrible disaster.
The liner Olympic was the twin of the Titanic. In 1911, when he collided with the cruiser Hawk, the nurse Violet Jessop was on board. She was lucky she survived. But in 1912 she also ended up on the infamous Titanic. Then out of about 1,500 passengers, 712 people survived. Once again, Jessop was lucky. After that, she received the nickname "Miss Unsinkable".
4. Number 100, which connected the fates of Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy
But if the books describe fictional events that actually happened, then the biographies of the two American presidents are connected by the magic number 100.
In 1860, Abraham Linkolno became President of the United States of America, and exactly a century later, John F. Kennedy took over the same post. In addition, the circumstances of the death of both men are very similar: they were killed by a shot in the head on Friday. But that's not all. Lincoln's successor was Andrew Johnson, who was born in 1808. And the Kennedy chair was taken by Lyndon Johnson, who was born in 1908.
Here's another pattern: the person who killed Abraham was born in 1829, the one who took John's life exactly one hundred years later. In addition, Lincoln's secretary bore the surname Kennedy, and Kennedy - Lincoln.
5. Napoleon and Hitler were tied for 129 years
Another surprising pattern connects the biographies of the two conquerors. In 1760, Napoleon Bonaparte was born, and 129 years later, in 1889, Adolf Hitler was born. Both came to power with the same time difference. In 1809, the French emperor entered Vienna, his German "colleague" conquered the Austrian capital in 1938. We think you have already calculated how much time has passed between these events. In addition, the announcers decided to conquer Russia with a difference of 129 years: Napoleon attacked our country in 1812, Hitler in 1941.
6. Burnt Jeanne
And this story happened relatively recently - in the early 90s. For his painting Jeanne d'Arc on Fire, the artist René Charbonneau asked the student Jeanne Lenois to pose. The very next day after finishing work on the canvas, the girl, a former student of the chemistry department, was burned to death in a fire in a university laboratory. If you don't remember, Jeanne d'Arc was burned alive at the stake several centuries before this event.
7. Mark Twain and Halley's Comet
Halley's comet rarely flies over the Earth: about once every 80 years. It was in 1835, when she once again approached our planet, that Mark Twain was born. Later, the writer predicted that he would die when the celestial body arrived again. And so it happened: the prose writer was gone when Halley flew over the Earth again.
8. The intertwined fate of King Umberto I and the restaurant owner
Once the Italian king met the owner of one of the restaurants, who outwardly looked very much like him. After talking, the new friends were surprised to learn that they had a lot in common: the date and place of birth - March 14, 1844, Turin, a wife named Margarita. In addition, it was on the day of the coronation of the ruler that the entrepreneur opened his establishment.
A few days later, Umberto I learned that his new acquaintance had been shot. And on the same day, when the king went to express his condolences to the family of the deceased, an attempt was made on him - the anarchist's bullet left him no chance.
9. They met
At the end of the 19th century, the automotive industry was still in its infancy, and therefore there were only two cars in the US state of Ohio. But these vehicles managed to find each other on a huge territory and collided. Thus, not a single car remained in Ohio.
If we talked about the lucky ones above, then the story of the two brothers is an example of fatal bad luck. In the early 70s of the last century, a taxi and a moped collided in Bermuda, after which the driver of the latter died. And a year later, on the same street, an accident occurred again: a taxi with the same driver and the same passenger collided with a moped, driven by … the brother of the deceased earlier.
10. Anthony Hopkins and the rare book
While working on the role in the film "The Girl from Petrovka", the actor really wanted to read the book by George Feyfor, which was used to shoot the picture. But it turned out that the work was released in a limited edition, and Hopkins could not find it anywhere. And one day Anthony accidentally stumbled upon a copy in a subway car.
Imagine the actor's surprise when, having met with the writer, he found out that even he did not have a copy of the book, because he gave the only one to a friend. The latter lost her … in a subway car.
11. Separated twins with the same life stories
The twins from Ohio (some kind of mystical state) were separated in infancy, and they grew up unaware of each other's existence. But when the brothers met, they learned that both were called Jason, they work as police officers, and their first wives were called Lindas.
But the coincidences didn't end there. Both have sons James Allana, second spouses Betty and Toya's dogs.
12. Killed player and his heir
In the middle of the 19th century, a strange incident occurred. A certain Robert Fallon, playing poker, won $ 600. But the opponent shot him, accusing him of cheating. However, no one was in a hurry to pick up the money or take the place of the deceased. According to the rules, the game had to be finished, and those sitting at the table decided to invite the first comer.
It turned out to be a random guy on the street who agreed to play with the amount of the deceased. And he was lucky: he was able to raise the winnings. But at this time, the police arrived, and it turned out that the lucky one was the son of that same murdered Robert Fallon. True, the heir has not seen his father for 7 years. In addition, it was he, as the closest relative of the deceased, who was given the notorious $ 600.
