The surname Bondarchuk in the world of theater and cinema has remained one of the most famous and authoritative for almost 100 years. The heir to the famous acting dynasty bears a different surname, but this does not mislead anyone, because he, of course, can be considered its worthy successor. The grandson of Sergei Bondarchuk, Konstantin Kryukov, who recently celebrated his 36th birthday, has already managed to declare himself as a successful actor, producer, artist and jeweler. The only thing he regrets today is his unfinished dialogue with his mother, actress Alena Bondarchuk, who died prematurely 11 years ago.
Jeweler and artist from the legendary acting dynasty
Many were convinced that the path of Konstantin Kryukov was predetermined from birth, because he was surrounded by the brightest stars of Soviet cinema. He really continued his parental work, but at first it was not his mother who became a real authority and an example to follow for him, but his father - Doctor of Philosophy, gemologist (expert in evaluating precious stones) Vitaly Kryukov. As a child, Kostya had no idea that his grandfather was a legend. He realized this only when he was gone - so many people came to the memorial service that it was a great surprise for the boy.
No one doubted that Alena Bondarchuk would choose an acting profession - the daughter of Sergei Bondarchuk and Irina Skobtseva, the older sister of Fyodor Bondarchuk, the half-sister of Natalia Bondarchuk simply could not make another choice. But relatives tried to protect her son Konstantin from this profession dependent on directors and screenwriters. The famous grandfather, in addition to cinema, was fond of painting, taught him to draw and, noticing his grandson's abilities, tried to instill in him a love for the fine arts and develop talents.
When Kostya was 4 years old, his family moved from Russia to Switzerland, where his father was in business. From childhood, the boy spoke German and read and wrote poorly in his native language. He was sent to study at an art school in Switzerland, upon returning from which to Russia, he continued to study at an educational institution at the German embassy. Kryukov passed the last two classes as an external student, entered the Moscow branch of the American Institute of Gemology, and at the age of 16 he became the youngest specialist in precious stones. Later he also received a law degree, but still considers painting and jewelry design his favorite pastime. And Konstantin presented his first piece of jewelry to his mother.
Acting genes take their toll
For a long time, Konstantin Kryukov had no thoughts about his acting career - he studied a lot from childhood and moved in a completely different environment, not in any way connected with the world of cinema. But once Fyodor Bondarchuk came to visit them and complained that the casting for his film "9th Company" lasted a very long time and was unsuccessful. Then Alena invited him to arrange tests for his nephew. The 18-year-old Kostya had neither acting education nor filming experience, but they were compensated by natural artistry and incredible charm. He passed the casting on a general basis and as a result got one of the main roles - a fighter with the callsign Mona Lisa. Returning home after filming, Kryukov admitted: "".
Then Kryukov thought that these shootings were the first and last in his life. But the film debut turned out to be very successful, and after that he began to receive one role after another, although he never received an acting education. Every time he was sent a script, Konstantin always consulted with his grandmother Irina Skobtseva and uncle Fyodor Bondarchuk. Since then, he has played more than 60 film roles and has earned recognition from both critics and audiences.
The biggest loss and the most important life lesson
Konstantin was only 24 years old when his mother passed away - at the age of 47 she burned out from oncology. When news of her departure appeared in 2009, many simply did not believe it - only her relatives knew about her disease, she underwent treatment in Israel. Konstantin admired how steadfastly his mother bore her illness, how, in spite of everything, she did not lose hope and love for life. Until the last days, Alena Bondarchuk looked great and continued to work, so it was really difficult to believe in her premature departure.
Then for the first time in his life, Kryukov felt completely defenseless. In addition, the feeling that he missed and did not have time for something very important did not leave him - he did not speak, did not come again, did not say how much he loved her and how he cherished her. For a long time, Constantine could not get rid of not only melancholy, but also of shame because he had not completed something. He confessed: "".
This lesson made him reconsider his attitude towards all other close people - he began to spend more time with his daughter, did not skimp on warm words, did not restrain his feelings. The main thing that this loss taught him was to be with loved ones as often as possible. Over the years, the actor could not come to terms with the loss, because his mother was a special person for him, about whom he said: "".
Kryukov still talks about his mother in the present tense, although she has not been among the living for 11 years. He still constantly consults with her and turns to her mentally. The actor says: "". Because of this loss, Kryukov quickly matured and, according to him, found constancy in love. 3.5 years after his mother passed away, Konstantin Kryukov married a second time. On the day of the wedding with his chosen one Alina Alekseeva, he came with her to his mother's grave. For several minutes he was talking to her about something, kneeling in front of the monument.
