How a chance helped Svetlana Svelova to become an actress, and love ruined her life

Svetlana Savelova is a bright talented actress. Thanks to her acting talent and great looks, she quickly burst into the profession. It was only in 1960 that her career began, and eight years later there were "Seven old men and one girl." But, as often happens in the acting environment, Svetlana's star was not destined to shine for a long time in the theater and in the cinema. After the film, beloved by the Soviet audience, the actress disappeared from the screens. Few people knew and heard about her activities. And in the 90s, there was news that the actress passed away, abandoned by everyone.

Svetlana's childhood

Svetlana Ivanovna was born in 1942 in the city of Simferopol. His father died in the war, and his mother was a junior medical officer and worked in a local hospital. It was hard during the war years. But after the end of the war, the family lived modestly, like most ordinary citizens. At school, Svetlana studied well, was a kind, sociable girl. The career of an actress never fascinated her. For her, the world of theater and cinema was something unimaginable and unattainable. The girl firmly decided for herself that she would become a doctor and follow in her mother's footsteps. After school, Svetlana began to prepare for admission to the medical institute and along the way worked in a pharmacy - she was packing up medicines.

An unexpected twist of fate: a role in the first film "Farewell to Doves"

Life went on as usual, Svetlana was preparing to enter the institute. And in the summer, at the same time, the director's group of Yakov Segel comes to Crimea. For a long time he could not find an actress for the main role in his film "Goodbye, pigeons." Dozens of eminent, and not so, actresses auditioned, hundreds of contests and hearings were held, but the director could not find one that would exactly and vividly fit the role of the main character. A chance acquaintance with Svetlana changed everything. Just a few minutes of communication was enough for Yakov to understand that he was facing the one who would fit into the role better than the experienced Moscow actresses.

The inexperienced girl on the screen looked like a real film star. The film was released widely and received not only all-Union fame (the film was watched by 22 million viewers!), But also won several foreign awards. After such a triumph, Svetlana Savelova dramatically changes her life. Forgetting about her career as a doctor, she sets off to conquer Moscow and enters the Shchukin Theater School.

Time to dream and love

At the time of admission to the Shchukin School, Savelova was already a star. Such bright actors as Valentin Smirnitsky and Alexander Kalyagin studied with her at the faculty. The teachers predicted a great future for the young talented actress.

In the first years, Svetlana continues to act in films. She got the main role in the film "Green Light". Also, the young actress took part in the filming of the television play "The Story of Young Spouses". Savelova was a very effective girl, there was no end to the fans. She gladly accepted the courtship, but did not let anyone close to her, knowing about acting ethics and dreaming that someday she would still meet true love, as in romantic poetry. And yet, her classmate Gennady Baysak was able to conquer Svetlana's heart.

Work in theater and cinema

In the 65th year, Svetlana Savelova received a diploma and entered the troupe of the Vakhtangov Theater. But from the very first day, the relationship with the management and the cast did not work out. A year later, the actress moved to the Lenin Komsomol Theater. Shooting continued, at the end of the 60s the actress had several bright roles, one of which was coach Lena Velichko in the film "Seven Old Men, One Girl". The stellar cast, as well as the great acting of the actress, made the film a popular favorite. This was the last successful project in which Savelova took part. In the same year (1968), when she had a role in Old Men, a new script for the film In Russia was launched. Everyone understood that he was rather weak, so it was decided to add some chic with the help of eminent actors. Among them was Svetlana. The film turned out to be a failure. After this picture, the actress was no longer offered the role, she put all her hope on her beloved theater.

The peak of his theatrical career came at 73. The role in the film-play "Three Girls in Blue" brought incredible success to Svetlana. Mark Zakharov had high hopes for the actress. He gave diverse roles that would help her reach her full potential. The performance of the actress was amazing, she earned the love and respect not only of the audience, but also of colleagues.

Personal life is a personal tragedy

Svetlana has always been popular with men. In 1965, her classmate actor Gennady Baysak won her heart. But, unfortunately, after a while the marriage broke up. The actress painfully survived the separation and decided to take marriage seriously in the future. She had novels, and more than one, with famous actors: Nikolai Karachentsov, Alexander Zbruev, Sergei Milanov. It was the last boyfriend who addicted the actress to alcohol.

The tragic accident that disfigured the face of the actress exacerbated the addiction. Svetlana started skipping rehearsals. Her leading theatrical roles passed on to others. Mark Zakharov tried in vain to reason with her, and Savelova slipped from the main actresses to theatrical extras.

The salary has dropped. The actress had to sell a luxurious apartment in Moscow and move to the outskirts. She began to come to the theater only for a fee, which was sorely lacking. The once brilliant girl and talented actress found herself on the verge of poverty, forgotten by everyone.

On January 30, 1990, the actress died. Alcohol poisoning is believed to be the cause of death. Abandoned by everyone, without children and a spouse: she was found only on the third day after her death. The body of the actress was cremated. She had to be dressed in a theatrical costume, since there were no suitable things in the wardrobe. The theater took care of the funeral.

Colleagues in the acting workshop always spoke warmly about her. She was a very kind and helpful person. But life is harsh and the actress was never able to make the dreams of a bright career and family happiness come true.
