It's hard to believe that a handsome actor Peter Glebov in his 30s he was still single, which made his mother very upset. He is one of her five sons, he could not find himself a life partner. And then one day she decided to take the fate of her son into her own hands and coped with it brilliantly. 52 years of marriage between Peter Glebov and Marina Levitskaya - they meant something …

Actor Pyotr Glebov was born in 1915 in Moscow in the family of a hereditary noblewoman Maria Alexandrovna Mikhalkova, to whom the poet Sergei Mikhalkov was his own nephew. Curiously, the Glebovs were related to Count Vasily Orlov-Denisov, princes Trubetskoy and Golitsyn. Some biographers, not without reason, believe that his family was associated with Leo Tolstoy, and the actor's grandmother Sofia Nikolaevna Trubetskaya was the prototype of Natasha Rostova. As impressive as it may sound, in the future Peter had to hide his noble roots for a very long time. Filling out the personal data, Glebov indicated that his mother was a housewife, and his father was an agronomist.

The boy's childhood was spent in a village near Zvenigorod, where the family was hiding from the revolution. Glebov's father was a horse breeder. From that distant childhood, the actor had a passion for horses, and a love for picturesque nature. When Petya, the smallest in the family, was 7 years old, his father died of typhus, and the mother with five sons had to move to the outhouse, giving the spacious house for a children's boarding school. The Glebovs literally managed to survive without having enough food, clothing and shoes. Influential relatives who had gone abroad at one time offered them to emigrate, but the mother and sons remained in Russia.

After the end of the seven-year period, Peter randomly chose a land reclamation and road technical school, not even knowing who he would have to work after graduation. But the job was done … After graduating from the prescribed time, he worked as a hydraulic engineer, and realizing that this was not his at all, he tried to enter Stanislavsky's drama studio. However, the first attempt failed, and Glebov, morally supported by his older brother, went on a second attempt … In 1941, the young graduate of the studio was accepted into the theater troupe. But the war was already on the threshold, and Peter signed up for the front as a volunteer.

The aspiring actor completed the course of a young soldier and, having taken the oath, became a junior sergeant and commander of an artillery gun., - this is how the commander of the battery VL Vilkov recalled the appearance of the artist in the unit, -. So the actor served in the anti-aircraft artillery regiment until the victory. And during the quiet hours with other fighters-artists he played on the front theater stage. After the Patriotic War, he remained a theatrical actor; for many years he was invited to the cinema only for episodic roles.

And when he turned 32, his mother Maria Alexandrovna, finally losing faith that her son would bring his daughter-in-law to the house, began to look for a candidate for his wife herself: The mother's excitement was understandable, because there were five brothers in the Glebov family, four of them had arranged his personal life, but the youngest, Peter, was all bachelors.

Therefore, Maria Alexandrovna carefully looked at every girl from a decent family suitable for her age. And once, while visiting her friend, she met her 30-year-old niece Marina Levitskaya, a future actress. The girl immediately liked the actor's mother. The women drank tea, talked, and as they left, Maria Alexandrovna pointedly hinted that she would be glad to see Marina again.

Less than a few days later, Levitskaya was invited to visit the Glebovs. She was terribly embarrassed, but she did not dare to refuse the respected woman and came to tea. At the time of her arrival, Peter was at home, but he was in a hurry to the House of Unions for the New Year's performance, where he played Petrushka.

The actor's mother's plan began to burst at the seams, but she was not one of those women who quickly give up. Having seated Marina at the table, she began to retell her amazing biography. The story was long and detailed, in bright colors and the smallest detail. Glebov had already managed to play Petrushka and return home, and the fascinating story of Maria Alexandrovna went on and on until it was quite late and dark. And then it became clear to everyone that the girl needed to be escorted. Peter sighed with resignation and, under the hinting gaze of his mother, obediently offered: "Marina, I will accompany you."

What the girl felt at that moment was so terrible and humiliating that she flatly refused the escort and went home alone. Apparently, it was with this that she hooked Peter then. He began to call her, invite her to watch movies, take walks, introduced her to all his friends and relatives.

Six months passed in this way. Once staying at the Glebovs' house, Marina stayed overnight. In the middle of the night, she woke up in fright from the touch on her shoulder … Peter was kneeling in front of the bed and making her an official marriage proposal. Marina liked the actor, but she was not in love with him, but she felt that she and Glebov were made of the same dough.

They did not delay the marriage - the next day we went to the registry office. The young people began to live in a communal apartment with the Glebovs. At first, of course, it was difficult, since the apartment was one-room, but four of us had to live: the newlyweds, Glebov's mother and the old nanny. However, even despite such tightness, Peter and Marina managed to give birth to two daughters. Olya, was born in 1951, and five years later Lena was born.

National love came to Glebov in the late 50s, when he played the role of Grigory Melekhov in Sergei Gerasimov's film "Quiet Don". Work on the film was carried out in the Sholokhov area, on the Don. Glebov went to the shooting alone, but then he could not stand it. In April 1957, having arrived in Moscow for a while, he began to persuade his wife to go with him to the Don, of course, with the children. Marina hesitated, because their second daughter was not even a year old. But Glebov was very categorical and said the following as the main argument:. And it is very likely that it could have happened. Having such a brilliant actress as Bystritskaya as partners, Glebov really could not resist. After these words, the wife instantly gave up and began to pack her suitcases. They began to live on the farm Dichensky, where a lonely woman gave them a corner in her hut. That extraordinary time Glebov remembered as the happiest.

After filming "Quiet Don", the family moved to a new apartment in a house on the Frunzenskaya embankment. Life gradually began to improve. Peter continued to work in the theater, he also starred in films, but fate did not give him such a stellar role, equal in magnitude to the role of Grigory Melekhov. But the actor did not complain - the artist's fame was still loud enough.

But he was much more fortunate in another - the most important thing … he was lucky with his wife and children. Two daughters, Elena and Olga, as adults, considered mother and father to be an ideal couple. Together with his wife, they lived for 52 years, until the artist's death.

In Glebov there was not a drop of what is today called stardom. From the memoirs of the actor's daughters:

Pyotr Petrovich died on April 17, 2000, three days after his 85th birthday. Instant death was provoked by a detached blood clot. On that unfortunate morning, Pyotr Petrovich got up early, woke his wife and escorted her to the door, closed the door and lay down again. An unexpected call from the postman at the door made the actor stand up abruptly, and a moment later fall to the floor, dead. The thrombus did his dirty deed … The outstanding actor was buried at the Vagankovskoye cemetery. Marina survived her husband by only 9 years, she rests next to her husband.
