Creative natures, as a rule, are very vulnerable and often simply cannot cope with their feelings and emotions. Then the only way out seems to them to leave this mortal world. In our today's review, those Soviet writers and poets who decided to say goodbye to life, leaving for the next generations the right to appreciate their talent and their works.
Anatoly Vinogradov
He wrote historical and biographical novels, met in his youth with Leo Tolstoy, together with like-minded people created the Russian Society of Friends of the Book. He went through the First World War as an orderly, and during the Great Patriotic War he was a correspondent for the "Red Falcon" and, being the navigator of the Western air group, he made several sorties. Later he switched to staff work, rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel.
On November 26, 1946, a scandal broke out in the family of Anatoly Vinogradov, as a result of which the writer shot his wife, wounded his stepson and committed suicide. The daughter of Anatoly Kornelievich believes that the main cause of the tragedy was the aggravated disease. In addition, the father had a prolonged depression after the death of his son, the pain from which was only intensified by literary lack of demand. And even shortly before what happened, Vinogradov's novel was criticized, without hesitation in expressions. The last straw was the outbreak of a scandal, as a result of which a fatal shot rang out.
Lily Brick
The name of this woman was widely known: the muse of the Russian avant-garde, the beloved woman of Vladimir Mayakovsky. She herself wrote books, however, these were mostly memoirs, which are still impossible to read in full, because Lilia Yuryevna's heirs decided not to publish them until 2028.
Lilia Brick was 86 years old when she suffered a hip fracture. Unable to put up with her own helplessness, the muse of the Russian avant-garde waited for her husband to leave his dacha in Peredelkino and took a large dose of sleeping pills. In a note left, she asked to understand her and forgive.
Alexander Romm
The elder brother of the director Mikhail Romm wrote poetry and translated works of foreign authors into Russian, and the poems of Alexander Blok into French. During the war he served in the navy, where he not only fought, but also wrote for front-line and local newspapers. In October 1943, he committed suicide, using his service weapon.
Alexander Bashlachev
He was talented and very lonely. The poet and rock bard, who was called a prominent representative of the Soviet underground, had many friends, but there were no people around who looked at the world through his eyes. Apparently, loneliness, aggravated by a creative crisis, pushed Yuri Bashlachev on that fateful day, February 17, 1988, to the open window of an apartment on the eighth floor. Many years after his death, the leader of the Alisa group, Konstantin Kinchev, will say that the death of the poet and musician left an unhealed wound in his own soul for life.
Julia Drunina
She wrote poetry since childhood, was a nurse during the Great Patriotic War, in 1943 she almost died, having received a severe shrapnel wound in the neck, and in 1944 after a shell shock she was discharged, graduated from the Literary Institute, wrote a lot. She enthusiastically embraced perestroika, took an active civic position, and was even elected to the Supreme Soviet. But later she lost faith in what could be useful in this post, and she took the collapse of the country and the overthrow of social ideals very painfully, which became a possible reason for her suicide in 1991. She choked on the exhaust fumes in her own garage, leaving a note on the door for her son-in-law asking him not to be scared and call the police.
Boris Primerov
Another Soviet writer who could not come to terms with what was happening in the country in the 1990s. In his suicide note, the poet wrote that he did not want to live in a country with Yeltsin and Luzhkov, calling them scum and calling on the people to overthrow them. In the same note, he wrote: Yulia Drunina called me. Boris Primerov hanged himself in Peredelkino, at his own dacha.
Gennady Shpalikov
The fate of the Soviet poet and screenwriter was in many ways tragic. Gennady Shpalikov showed great promise. Already while studying at the screenwriting faculty of VGIK, he became, together with Marlen Khutsiev and, at his invitation, a co-author of the script for the film "Zastava Ilyich", which was later recognized as ideologically harmful. He wrote many scripts, but they did not find their embodiment on the screen.
The first wife Natalia Ryazantseva left Shpalikov, tired of fighting his addiction to alcohol. Later, he married actress Inna Gulaya, who gave birth to his daughter, but was never able to come to terms with his alcoholism. Against the background of creative lack of demand and family disorder, he plunged into depression and hanged himself at one of the dachas in Peredelkino.
Sometimes a passionate desire to start life from scratch makes people radically change everything around them: work, environment, environment. Some people think that only passing away can solve their problems. Not real, but staged. It is still rumored that Princess Diana, Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson are actually alive. There is no confirmation of this, but there are other famous personalities who skillfully arranged their disappearance and were declared dead.
