Who would have thought that one day what once flashed on TV screens will soon become a part of our life. And no matter how funny it may sound, but the one who came up with science fiction is a real genius who gave the world a myriad of interesting, and most importantly, very useful inventions and things.

1. Videodrome (1983)

What he predicted: YouTube.

Every minute a myriad of videos are uploaded to YouTube every minute: from beating, torture, murder, stupid videos, not very clever clips and other things that flashed in the legendary Cronenberg film. And what was once part of an invention, alas, to our great regret, today has become a little pleasant reality.

2. Forbidden Planet (1956)

What he predicted: mobile phones.

An excellent sci-fi movie from the fifties predicted a world in which people would use small pocket communicators that look suspiciously like modern mobile phones. So it turns out that the prophets have existed from time immemorial, predicting the near future in their bizarre films.

3. Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979)

What he predicted: Bluetooth headsets, hyposprays, universal translator.

As it turned out, this film showed a lot of ingenious ideas that confidently made their way into reality. Just imagine that a few decades ago even a banal universal translator seemed like a super fantastic invention, but today the Internet is full of all kinds of applications that work not only when installed on devices, but also online.

4. Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind (2004)

What he predicted: erasing memory.

Needless to say, the modern world is both surprising and frightening. And while Dutch scientists talk about heart medications having a similar effect when it comes to erasing traumatic memories, Asians, chuckling quietly on the sidelines, are experimenting with a memory-erasing machine.

5. Woman on the Moon (1928)

What he predicted: space travel.

Decades before NASA dreamed of landing a man on the moon, this German film made some startlingly accurate predictions about the future of space exploration. It not only has a multistage rocket that used liquid fuel to escape from the atmosphere, but also a launch countdown that runs from ten to zero - exactly what was soon used in the modern world.

6. The Jetsons: The Movie (1990)

What he predicted: robot vacuum cleaner.

We may not be driving to work in flying cars or swallowing pills for dinner - although who knows how it will be next. But for now, we can safely say that the Jetsons have created a truly ingenious thing, namely, a robot vacuum cleaner.

7. The Cable Guy (1996)

What he predicted: home shopping, online games.

Remember the very promising line in the movie "The Cable Guy", which read:. And you know what? All of the above turned out to be the real truth, embodied in reality.

8. Mad Max 2: Warrior of the Road (1981)

What he predicted: resource wars.

And all would be fine, but the further, the more terrible, because the film "Mad Max 2: Warrior of the Road" begins to look more and more prophetic about the impending wars for resources. In fact, governments have already acknowledged that a full-scale war over natural resources is possible, and the UN has pointed to a shortage of natural materials as fuel for conflict in places like Darfur and Ukraine.

9. Enemy of the State (1998)

What he predicted: observation.

With revelations that Western governments are spying on their citizens, this late-nineties conspiracy thriller begins to look much less like paranoid bullshit and more like what is happening now. After all, wherever you spit, everywhere there is total control, which every day is becoming tougher and tougher.

10. Superbros Mario (1993)

What he predicted: the fall of the World Trade Center. This should be part of a conspiracy theory column, for what to call where a single piece bizarrely foreshadows 9/11. The action takes place towards the end of the film, when the twin towers, simply piling one on top of the other, scatter in the air like a shaky illusion.

11. Television network (1976)

What he predicted: tabloid tv.

Despite being nearly four decades old, the Oscar-winning Network is as relevant today as it was when it was first released in 1976. This is largely due to how accurate the idea and plot turned out to be. Especially the moment about sensational television and news networks collecting ratings by any means.

12. Americanphone (1979)

What he predicted: America's economic difficulties, the collapse of the Soviet Union and the rise of China.

As tragic as it sounds, this long-forgotten satire shows the bankrupt American government, which must launch a telethon to raise money for its ailing economy. The film also features hybrid vehicles, the end of the Soviet Union and China transitioning to capitalism and becoming a superpower, Vietnam becoming a major tourist attraction, smoking bans and a future where Beach Boys are still popular. Overall, this is an absurdly accurate view of the world we call home today.

13. Network (1995)

What he predicted: identity theft, ordering pizza online.

Identity theft featured in this bizarre thriller might have seemed far-fetched in the mid-nineties - let's remember that the computers we see in the Sandra Bullock movie are still equipped with floppy disks. But, if we discard these details and look at our reality with a sober look, then you understand that identity theft via the Internet has become the order of things in the 21st century.

14. You've got a letter (1998)

What he predicted: Internet dating.

Perhaps this is the same film, the idea of which pushed evil geniuses to create virtual dating, which has become at the peak of the popularity of the modern world. But let's go back to the nineties, when this was all new and people made appointments the old fashioned way through letters, notes and calls.

15. Man (1972)

What he predicted: President Obama.

Who would have thought that this 1972 film was able to predict a watershed political event thirty-six years before America got its first black president.
