In the fall of 1973, 44 years ago, the film premiered "Three nuts for Cinderella", which in the Czech Republic was recognized as the best fairy tale of the twentieth century. The actors who played the main roles immediately became idols not only for young spectators, but also for the adult audience. They said that Cinderella and the Prince are so convincing in these images because in real life they also had a romantic relationship. Few people know how their fate developed after filming in a sensational film.

The movie tale was created jointly by Czechoslovakia and the GDR. Initially, the shooting was supposed to take place only in the Czech Republic, but the director Vaclav Vorlicek found the allocated budget insufficient - 3 million kroons, and he turned to his German colleagues for help. They added another 3 million on the condition that filming will take place on their territory. So the royal family "settled" in the Moritzburg castle, which is located 14 km from Dresden, and the Czech castle Shvihov became the estate of Cinderella's father. And the snow-covered fields and forests were filmed in Šumava, a picturesque place in the west of the Czech Republic.

"Three Nuts for Cinderella" in the Czech Republic, Germany and Norway is still shown every year on television at Christmas, today this film is perceived exclusively as a magical winter fairy tale, although it was originally planned to shoot in the summer. And unforgettable shots, where Cinderella and the Prince gallop on white horses through the snow-covered fields, might not have happened, since in the script they were walking in a flowering meadow. However, the director of the German film studio announced in October that he could provide the studio for the next 3 months, and they decided to postpone the shooting for the winter.

The leading actors were sought in Czech and German theaters. 19-year-old Czech actress Libuše Shafrankova was approved for the role of Cinderella immediately - both because of her bright appearance and because she was perfectly in the saddle. After filming, her film career took off, now the actress is 63 years old, and she continues to star in films and TV shows. In the Czech Republic, she is called the queen of television. Despite her popularity, she leads a secluded life, does not like to give interviews and protects her family from the press.

The actor for the role of Prince was chosen from 20 other applicants, which he was very proud of. Pavel Travnichek said that at that time all the men of Czechoslovakia were jealous and jealous of him, since Libushe Shafrankova was incredibly beautiful. Rumors immediately arose that a romance began between the main characters on the set. The actress still answers this question very evasively, not saying "yes" or "no", and Pavel Travnichek does not make a secret out of this: "".

Later they played lovers in another film - "The Third Prince", but in real life their paths soon parted ways. Libuse Shafrankova married a Czech actor and remains with him to this day. And Pavel Travnichek was married three times, he already has two adult sons, and his last chosen one is 34 years younger than him. After filming the fairy tale "Three Nuts for Cinderella", he played more in the theater than in the cinema, then opened his own acting agency and started organizing shows on Czech television.

But the German actress who played the role of the Stepmother, unfortunately, has long been dead. In 1978, at the age of 54, Carola Brownbock passed away. The role of her daughter in the fairy tale went to Daniele Glavachova. During the filming, she was pregnant, and therefore a complex trick with the fall of the sleigh into the wormwood was performed by stunt doubles instead. The actress stopped acting in 2008, now she is 71 years old, she runs an art school in Prague.
