May 19 could have turned 85 years old Soviet theater and film actress, People's Artist of the RSFSR Maya Bulgakovabut she died in a car accident 23 years ago. Viewers who know her from the films "Wings", "Yegor Bulychev and others", "The Adventures of Electronics", "Gypsy", "Farewell of the Slav", do not even suspect that in life the actress was a real femme fatale - because on the screen her role was completely different …
Maya Bulgakova was born in 1932 in Ukraine, in the village of Buki, Kiev region. When the Great Patriotic War began, the children and their mother went to evacuate to Irkutsk, where Maya had to take care of her younger brother and sister. Later, she recalled this time: “And, maybe, if it had not been so difficult then, I had not learned to fight for my place today and every day to prove that you did not lag behind, did not lose the sense of time, that you have the right to tell people about yours. attitude.
Since childhood, Maya sang well, she often performed in front of the wounded in the hospital. The listeners were sure that the future of the pop singer awaited her. And another of her hobbies was cinema: when my mother worked in the cinema, the children watched films several times a day. Therefore, Maya decided to enter acting at VGIK.
They first talked about her as a gifted actress when, after graduating from VGIK, she starred in the film "Freeman". In parallel, Maya studied singing and performed with Utesov's orchestra. She even won the Silver Prize at the World Festival of Youth and Students in 1957. Bulgakova became the first Soviet performer to include Edith Piaf's songs in her repertoire.
In the 1960s. she starred quite a lot and, as a rule, she got the roles of single women with an unsettled fate, although outside the set she did not know what loneliness is. Although Maya did not meet traditional beauty standards, she conquered men at first sight. Her classmate Tatyana Konyukhova said that they flocked, as if Maya was smeared with honey.
She did not consider herself ugly since she heard the words of the chairman of the entrance commission at VGIK that she had an unusual face, and the audience did not forget such. “For several evenings I stared at myself in the mirror. She smiled, frowned, turned half a turn, raised an eyebrow. And finally I realized: I am a beauty! You just need to give your face the right expression - and the image is ready,”the actress recalled.
In her second year, Bulgakova married Anatoly Nitochkin, a cameraman student, and gave birth to a daughter, Zinaida. But doing household chores and raising a child was not part of her plans - she was focused on her film career. Therefore, the 4-month-old daughter gave her mother. Zina returned to her mother in Moscow only 12 years later. The marriage with Nitochkin soon fell apart - family acquaintances said that he was so shocked by the act of his wife that he was afraid for a long time to get closer to other women.
The second husband of Bulgakova was the young director Alexei Gabrilovich. They got married two months after they met. But this marriage did not last long either. After the divorce, Gabrilovich tied himself in marriage several times, but he continued to be jealous of his ex-wife for her fans and introduced himself to them as "Maykin's main husband."
When they divorced, Maya was pregnant, but this did not prevent her new gentleman - the son of Mosfilm director Alexander Surin - from proposing to her. He treated his newborn daughter Masha like his own father, walked with her when Bulgakova was on the set, and explained to friends: “And Mayechka is at the studio. She dreams of becoming famous so much. " Thanks to this, the actress got the main role in the film "Wings", which made her famous. She loved to repeat: "Lovers betray, children betray, only work will never betray."
After a year and a half, the actress left Surin and returned to Gabrilovich, but a year later they parted again. Bulgakova has conquered more than one male heart. When she was 40 years old, 26-year-old English choreographer Richard Collins fell in love with her. She refused to marry him and move to London, and for a long time he could not forget her and wrote letters.
At 46, Bulgakova married again - to 41-year-old Austrian businessman Peter Dobias. He came to Moscow for only a few days on business, but after meeting the actress, he returned to Vienna, divorced his wife and sold the business. They lived together until the summer of 1994, when Peter passed away. Maya missed him very much and had a presentiment of her imminent departure. In October of the same year, the car, in which the actress was, crashed into a pole. All passengers except her survived. She was 62 years old.
