Libraries often called the temple of science, knowledge, spirituality, but not all reading rooms cause awe among visitors. Famous New York photographer Frank Bohbot recently presented a series of works "House of Books", combining photographs of the most beautiful and richest libraries in Western Europe.

Over the years, Frank Bobot has gained fame as a talented "architectural" photographer. Earlier on the site Kulturologiya. RF we told that he filmed luxurious interiors of cinemas in California, deserted exhibition halls of the Louvre, swimming pools parisand even basketball hoops in new york … Now the turn has come to libraries, in Frank Bobot's review - the book depositories of Paris, Rome and Boston.

In addition to the colossal amount of books collected in these libraries, the premises themselves are of great historical value, they are real architectural monuments. Vaulted ceilings, luxurious chandeliers, paintings on the walls - all this splendor was captured by Frank Bobot. The endless rows of bookcases stretching along the walls are breathtaking, and the author manages to achieve dizzying symmetry in the photographs.

Looking at the photographs, one would like to be transported to the quiet, cozy world of the library, to plunge into reading books, to be imbued with the silence and grandeur of the halls. Despite the fact that we live in the digital age, I want to believe that public libraries will not lose their importance, that people will also turn to the printed book as a source of wisdom.
