It is customary to start a new life in our country from Monday. It doesn't matter what you do - change jobs, go on a diet, or go to the dentist's office. The constant postponement of things "for later" in psychology is denoted by the term procrastination. A new ironic is devoted to the same topic. installation by German artist Ole Ukena.
We have recently introduced the readers of the site Kulturologiya. Ru to the work of Ole Ukena. His controversial pacifist installation "In the Absence of War" is a vivid example of the internal contradictions that guide the author when creating each art object. Here is the unfinished installation "Giving Up is Not an Option"which literally means “Giving up is not an option” speaks for itself. After reading the inscription on the wall, the viewer immediately wonders what happened: either the "hardworking" master went out for a smoke break, or, not heeding the optimistic appeal, he abandoned his work.
Ole Ukena is a concept artist who works with various visualization media: text, video, photography, collage, cinema, graphics, sculpture. His installations can, as a rule, be characterized by the formula: "Complexity in simplicity" (almost textbook: "Everything ingenious is simple"). In this case, the text posted on the wall contradicts reality itself, because it is not finished by itself. Ole Ukena also encourages viewers to think about what they see in any work of art, and what idea is actually contained in it by the author. The peculiarities of the reception of creativity of Ole Ukena himself allows viewers to learn to perceive the world around them in a different way.
Who knows, maybe for someone this ironic art project will become a powerful motivation to remember that the road will be mastered by the one walking, which means that nothing is impossible for a person, the main thing is to never give up!
