There are many legends and fairy tales that all children know how to talk with animals and birds, and as adults, they lose this ability. Artist Krista Huot She sincerely believes in this legend, and always recalls her own childhood, which she spent in the mysterious forests of British Columbia, leaving home before dark with a small tent, a bag of food, books and toys, and returning when the sun has rolled far away Over the horizon. There, in these mysterious forests full of secrets and adventures, she loved to talk with animals and enjoy the thick, viscous air, saturated with the smell of forest grasses, leaves and needles. Subsequently, these memories will become her creative muse, helping to give birth to unusual, albeit so familiar, plots. Having fallen in love with fairy tales once and for all, Krista did not give up on them and became an adult, graduated from the College of Fine Arts and Classical Animation, and embarked on a creative path. Her paintings are saturated with folklore - in many of Christa's works it is easy to recognize fairy tales and stories familiar from childhood, because she draws ideas from her favorite books, supplementing them, however, with elements from a new, "adult" life. This is probably why the characters of fairy-tale pictures have such sad, and sometimes frankly evil eyes.

Krista prefers acrylics to all other paints, as they dry quickly and allow strokes to fit neatly on top of each other, but recently she has also used other paints based on walnut oil. Christa lives and works in Montreal, in a house that is more than 100 years old and which is decorated on all sides with antique forging. The girl is very proud of this fact - apparently, the old house reminds her of the times when she, still quite a baby, walked through the old forest, listening to its fascinating stories. Together with the artist, her husband and two fluffy cats also live in this house.
