Ballerinas only on stage seem to be some kind of creatures far from ordinary life, practically angels. And, in fact, they have their own everyday life. They also walk the streets, ride the subway, and walk their pets. But at the same time, they are still ballerinas. This is what the photo project of the New York photographer Dane Shitagi called The Ballerina Project is about.
How often have you seen a ballerina on the street? Surely, this has happened to you in your life! You just didn't know that it was a ballerina. After all, on the street, it is almost impossible to distinguish her from any other skinny girl.
But the ballerinas from The Ballerina Project by photo artist Dane Shitagi remain ballerinas on the streets of the metropolis. In this series of works, you can see how the everyday life of ballerinas takes place. They walk the streets of New York, relax in the park, walk the dog, watch the world from the balcony, go to the store, in general, do everything that millions of other residents of the "big apple" do.
But at the same time, they still remain ballerinas - graceful, beautiful, inaccessible. True, according to Dane Shitagi herself, for her in The Ballerina Project, the main thing was to show not ballet and ballerinas, but their inner world, their life outside the stage.
