Several years before his departure, Nikolai Kryuchkov suddenly asked his wife if she would marry when he was gone. And he himself answered with sadness: he cannot, because no one will treat her the way he does. He really pampered his wife with attention, care and gifts. And he was happy to see a happy sparkle in her eyes.
Nikolai Kryuchkov passed away in April 1994 due to a tumor in the larynx. And Lydia Nikolaevna really never married again. In her life there was no one else who could compare with Nikolai Afanasyevich.
