Animals are always full of all sorts of surprises. They constantly surprise us with such an unusually huge number of absolutely delightful things! The most amazing thing about our smaller brothers is their incredible ability to love. True friendship, dedication and loyalty are qualities, the all-consuming depth of which a person needs to learn and learn. The little dog that cannot walk and the bird that cannot fly have become best friends. How could a chihuahua and a pigeon sense a kindred spirit in each other?

Landy is a two month old Chihuahua. He has a damaged spine and from this the puppy practically cannot walk. The Mia Foundation in New York has adopted a cute dog. The pigeon Herman has been living there for a long time, his wounded was brought here for treatment. Sue Rogers, founder and owner of the foundation, says their main goal is to help animals with birth defects. But very often wounded birds and squirrels are brought to them. This is how Herman appeared at the orphanage.

Quite unexpectedly for everyone, friendly feelings immediately arose between the dog and the bird. Sue put Herman on Lundy's crib while she looked after the puppy. To her surprise, they immediately began to communicate very nicely. The impression was as if they were talking. They seem to have found comfort in each other's company and it's just amazing!

Such deep bonds could arise because they both lack something fundamental in life. After all, one cannot fly, and the other cannot walk. Although, such a tender friendship between a puppy and a bird is so unlikely that it is even difficult to imagine such a thing at all.

Herman, as a seasoned and experienced companion, made sure that baby Landy felt welcome in the shelter. From the very first meeting, when Sue Rogers put the pigeon on the puppy's blanket, they became inseparable. Their favorite pastime is to lie together on fluffy blankets.

It seems that Lundy is not very interested in his fellows yet. His favorite hobby is hanging out with his feathered friend. According to the founder of the center, now Lundy weighs only 400 grams. Due to the birth defect and low weight, the puppy has difficulty learning to walk. Sue is glad that at this time the dog has such a wonderful friend - Herman, who keeps him company.

While Lundy is gathering strength for classes that should help him become mobile, Herman does not leave him a single step. Sue even said that she began to doubt that he was a dove, because he had such a pronounced maternal instinct!

The Mia Foundation publishes cute photos of two unusual friends on its Instagram page. The sweet couple have a lot of fans. One has only to look at these two - and you instantly fall in love with them! The way a wingless pigeon touchingly cares for its little friend simply boggles the human imagination. I would like to believe that such popularity will help Lundy find a real home and a loving family in the future.
