He was called one of the most beautiful actors in Soviet cinema of the 1970s. Yuri Kamorny played only 37 movie roles and lived only 37 years. His path was short, but very bright. He was the same as his characters in the movies - passionate, desperate and indomitable. Polish actress Paul Rax called their short romance with Kamorny one of the best memories, and because of Nonna Mordyukova's refusal, the actor shot himself in the arm. His departure was sudden and absurd, and the reasons for his death were kept silent for a long time …
The success and adoration of the audience came to him from the very first roles. After graduating from LGITMiK, Kamorny got the main role in the film "Zosia", which became a landmark for him both in his creative and personal life. His partner on the set was the young Polish actress Paula Raksa, known to our viewers for the film "Four Tankmen and a Dog". She was the first foreigner recognized by the Soviet audience as the best actress of the year after the release of "Zosia" in 1967. She was called the standard of beauty, women did their hairstyles "under the Floor". Yuri Kamorny could not resist her charm either.
In one of the episodes of the film "Zosia", by negligence of pyrotechnics, a land mine exploded ahead of time, and Kamorny was concussed. After childhood meningitis, a concussion could have serious consequences. The actor was in the hospital for 3 months, the director proposed to suspend filming, since the doctors did not recommend Kamorny to return to the set, but he was so in love that then no one could stop him. The on-screen novel by Yuri Kamorny and Paula Raxa went off-set. Their relationship was short-lived, but the Polish actress remembered them for life and called them one of the most vivid memories. However, Paula was afraid to connect her life with a Russian actor and after the filming was completed she returned to Poland. Over the years, she explained: "". As time has shown, her intuition did not disappoint.
After "Zosia" Yuri Kamorny gained incredible popularity, he was besieged by crowds of fans. The directors drew attention to him, and he played 2-3 roles a year. Even his negative characters were incredibly attractive. Most often, he got the role of a hero-lover, a conqueror of women's hearts, strong and courageous, noble and mysterious. He was so in life - charming, unrestrained and desperate. For the sake of filming, he mastered parachute jumping, took up horse riding, learned to throw knives and even drive a tank, performed all complex tricks on his own. In one of the scenes of the film "Liberation" the actor, jumping from the tank, broke his leg and again received a concussion, but played the episode to the end and refused to go to the hospital.
In the film "Zosia" the debutant actor Kamorny was voiced by Vyacheslav Tikhonov. It was with him that he was often confused - the actors were so similar that this often misled the audience. All the more surprising was the fact that Kamorny fell in love with the actress Tikhonov was previously married to, Nonna Mordyukova. The fact that she was 20 years older than him did not bother him at all. At that time, the actress was already divorced and, perhaps, drew attention to Kamorny precisely because of his resemblance to Tikhonov.
The young admirer was very persistent, he came to her performances and confessed his love, but Mordyukova did not imagine it possible to start a relationship with a young man who was good for her sons. After her next refusal, he took out a pistol, put the muzzle to his palm and threatened to shoot himself in the hand if she did not agree to marry him. Mordyukova did not succumb to the provocation and again refused. And Kamorny shot! The bullet went right through, he was helped. But after this incident, the actor could not get out of depression for a long time.
One of the most beautiful actors in Soviet cinema was never able to find family happiness. In his student years, he married actress Irina Petrovskaya, they had a daughter, Polina. But this marriage did not last long. After the divorce, the actor left his apartment for his wife, taking with him to the communal apartment only his collection of cold arms and firearms, a passion for which he had felt since childhood. Later, the wife and her daughter moved to Germany and did not communicate with Kamorny anymore. The actor spent almost 10 years with Ada Staviska, a graduate of the Faculty of Law of Leningrad State University, who got a job as an administrator at Lenfilm and went with him on all film expeditions, but this union fell apart due to Kamorny's addiction to alcohol and nervous breakdowns.
It would seem that by the beginning of the 1980s. in his life everything turned out well: he was in demand in the profession, played the main roles, received the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR, the audience loved him, women lost their heads from him. But at this time, his nervous breakdowns became more frequent. In this regard, he had to go to the hospital. But then the shooting of a new film with his participation began, and Kamorny, without completing the course of treatment, began work. The shooting schedule was very tight and tense, the actor's nerves could not stand it. He again had an exacerbation of the disease, which the doctors later diagnosed as persecution mania. His condition was aggravated by the fact that the actor abused alcohol.
On November 27, 1981, the actor's neighbors heard a noise in his apartment - a woman was shouting there and asking for help. They called the police. Having broken down the door, they saw the following picture: a wall from floor to ceiling was hung with weapons, and near it a man twisted a woman, holding a blade to her throat. Threatening to kill her, he demanded that the policemen leave. In response, the sergeant fired a warning shot, and then fired, aiming at Camorny's leg. In a fatal accident, the bullet hit the femoral artery. The blood gushed so that they could not stop it. The death of the actor was instantaneous.
The press then kept silent about this tragic story. For many years, viewers did not know why the life of their idol ended at the age of 37. Even at Lenfilm it was forbidden to hold a memorial service. The authorities tried to hush up the scandal, and the criminal case was soon closed. Later, different things were written about the reasons for the incident. The assumption that the actor was drunk that day was not confirmed - the examination did not find traces of alcohol in his blood.
The actress, because of whom Yuri Kamorny shot himself, also could not find "her" person: Why Nonna Mordyukova's personal happiness did not work out.
