In February 2011, just a month before the earthquake in Japan, the earth was slipping from under the feet of the inhabitants of the New Zealand city of Christchurch. Of course, there was no tsunami that caused the death of thousands of people and an accident at a nuclear power plant, but the settlement itself was still very damaged - many buildings, including historical ones, were destroyed.

Moreover, on the streets of Christchurch, you can still see many buildings that have not yet been restored, which has a very negative effect on the appearance of the city. In order to get rid of these architectural "wounds", as well as to draw attention to the problem, the artist Mike Hewson started the art project Homage to the lost spaces.
