Sleeping Beauty, or Snow White waiting for the seven dwarfs, or "your bride is in that coffin" - the associative array can be continued indefinitely. And all this is about an unusual sculpture called "White Dream"by a Japanese sculptor Shinichi Hara … Light and weightless white sleep. Although, it is only in appearance that it is light and weightless, because the incredible sculpture was made not at all from foam or any other dense and porous material. To create this piece of art, the master needed a huge block of marble. From a single piece of marble, he carved an elegant sculpture of a sleeping girl.
The smooth lines, incredible detail, soft shapes inherent in this work are confusing. It seems that the sculpture itself is soft, and the material is "flowing" and viscous, similar to Turkish delight or bird's milk. We owe this deceptive impression to the author, or rather, to his attitude towards the material with which he works. For Shinichi Hara, marble is fossilized milk that is both solid and fluid: a liquid that has a form. The sculptor is sure that "fluidity" has always been hidden in the stone, but since we do not live in global time, we usually cannot verify this. In addition, there are no two identical stones: each has its own character, its own characteristics, and each requires an individual approach.
Marble sculptures, amazing masterpieces of modern art, are Shinichi Hara's favorite horse. You can get acquainted with his work closer on the website of the Union gallery.

Marble not like marble. Unusual sculptures-illusions by Fabio Viale
The once fashionable decor "under a tree", "under a stone", "under a marble" is no longer interesting. And it would be a sin not to share these masterpieces with the audience. So, the Italian sculptor F
