Ryan Johnson's works best fit the definition of "contemporary art": his sculptures, made from found materials, look very unusual, abstract and a little strange.
The title of the author's series of works is rather formidable - "Watchman", that is, "Watchman". But despite their large size - reaching a height of three meters, many sculptures tower over the audience - these strange characters seem more funny than threatening. Their deformed bodies are dressed in graffiti-painted uniforms, instead of faces, they have watch dials with many hands, and one leg is stuck in a bucket of concrete, making it impossible for them to pursue any kind. Moreover, a marker is attached to each character so that anyone can leave their own message on the surface of their torn clothes. Taking into account this name of the sculptures - and they are all "watchmen" or "guards" - it is at least bewildering.
Another interesting sculpture by Ryan Johnson is the Pedestrian. Made of many wooden elements, painted in different colors, it resembles a fast-paced person, frozen somewhere in time and space.
Ryan Johnson was born in Karachi, one of the largest cities in Pakistan, in 1978. Educated at Pratt Institute and Columbia University (New York). The author currently lives and works in New York.

Military everyday life of the Soviet militia, and what they were responsible for in the Great Patriotic guards of order
During the Great Patriotic War, the police were entrusted with tasks that went far beyond their traditional functions. In the harsh wartime, work on the protection of law and order was combined with the identification of fascist saboteurs, the protection of important objects from artillery attacks, and the evacuation of the population and enterprises. Not much is known about the exploits of Soviet militiamen during the war years. Meanwhile, enthusiastic historians have unearthed many facts about the exemplary heroism of employees of the internal affairs bodies, shown in the

Bodyguards for general secretaries: Why Khrushchev and Gorbachev despised their guards, and Brezhnev was accompanied by submariners
Many books have been written about the protection of Soviet secretaries general and many films have been filmed. The bodyguards from the special unit lived the lives of their charges. But even the absolute dedication of the guards was not always appreciated by the first persons of the state. Some of the bodyguards even managed to become a favorite of the leaders, an influential person, and then just as quickly go to be shot. And sometimes an ordinary walk of the secretary general could turn into a nightmare for the guards
The artist's reflections on pedestrians and walking
Traffic policemen believe that a person becomes a pedestrian, naturally, with the help of law enforcement agencies. In one of her interviews twenty years ago, in the midst of perestroika, Edita Piekha stated that a person is born ready. True, Edita Stanislavovna preferred to remain silent about her grandson. The grandson was born not quite ready, and the grandmother had to share her five-digit surname with him. The fact that a person is born already programmed, humanity has always known. Owl

Green, red, yellow traffic lights and funny people depicted on them. It would seem, what could be more familiar and more commonplace? But no! It turns out that each country and each city has its own designs of these little people, as everywhere else has its own designs of traffic lights
