The rich have their quirks. All over the world, only a few can afford to order a cake for a children's birthday at the price of a new car. However, there are such people. Debbie Wingham is a British pastry designer who fulfills the cherished wishes of fabulously wealthy clients. She is the author of the most expensive cake in the world, after seeing which it is hard to believe that its value is estimated at 48.5 million pounds.
Debbie says that she makes cakes not only for children, but, as practice shows, "children's orders" are always the most expensive. Kids, for whom such delicacies are ordered, most often live in a completely different world, in the world of luxury and wealth. For example, for a four-year-old birthday girl, Debbie made a cake using the baby's drawings as a sketch. The celebration took place at a five-star hotel in Cumbria. The cake looked like there was an explosion in Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. In size, he was even taller than the birthday girl.
Debbie's portfolio includes many original christening cakes. For a discerning customer, she made a Faberge egg-shaped cake that could be opened. A baptismal bracelet with a pink diamond was placed inside the cake. For another holiday, the pastry chef prepared cakes in the form of six handbags (models of handbags were invented by the mother of the birthday baby). Debbie recalls that the cakes looked so realistic that the guards even asked to pass them through a scanning machine (analogous to the conveyors that are installed at airports). Debbie had to explain that they were desserts.
Debbie travels a lot and brings expensive ingredients from her trips. In particular, she has recently made caramel only with the addition of unique golden salt, a can of which costs about 200 pounds sterling.
Debbie herself often cannot help being surprised to see what parents are ready for for the sake of their babies. "If they give such gifts for four years, then what will they find on this earth that can be given on the 18th birthday?" - she remarks reasonably. True, he adds that these kids are incredibly lucky in life.
In Russia, the recognized master of cakes is the legendary culinary specialist Renat Agzamov. His 17 incredibly beautiful cakes at first glance, they may seem just luxurious sculptural compositions. But in fact, all this beauty is edible!
