We are responsible for those we have tamed. Unfortunately, not all people remember this, though hackneyed, but still relevant phrase. And an example of this is the dogs shot by British photographer Martin Usborne for his Mute: The Silence of Dogs in Cars series.
Often people give birth to animals without knowing how they will take care of them, whether they have enough time, energy and desire for this. However, the same thing happens with children. But, if children can be given to nannies, then few people agree to tinker with animals. Here are the situations that are filmed by the London photographer Martin Usborne.
In a series of works by this artist, Mute: The Silence of Dogs in Cars, dogs are depicted locked in cars. They are forced to sit in them for hours, waiting for their owners, who have gone about their business and left their pets in the car.
Many of these dogs, abandoned for a long time, sit for hours and look out the window, expecting that the owner is about to return. And only experienced, already desperate four-legged, who know that this is for a long time, who is asleep, and who simply looks abstractedly into the void.
These dogs, in fact, are mute. They cannot express how they feel. Therefore, they are forced to sit in silence for hours inside cars.
The sad eyes of these dogs are an excellent vaccine against human insensitivity, irresponsibility and cruelty. However, this vaccine does not work for everyone. And there are people who behave even worse than the owners of these animals. And leaving the dog alone in the car is just one of the lesser evils that such people are capable of.
Recall at least a high-profile incident that occurred several years ago in the United States, when the adoptive father left the child in a car standing in the sun while he went to work. Unfortunately, the child died of heatstroke that day.
